This purports to be a hotel, but in essence it is a guest house/B&B as there is nothing here except rooms and a dining room. Our room was dirty with sloping and creaking floors and a small double bed with a hard mattress and one thin pillow each. Add to this the creaking of the floors and stairs as other guests moved about and the noisy macerating toilets I had very little sleep. It worries me with so many terrible comments that the owners have not responded to any of them. This to me means that they either don't care, or realise that their establishment is as bad as a lot of guests say and they cannot defend themselves. Breakfast was OK BUT not being able to get enough sleep due to all the issues above made this one of the worst places I have stayed at. No information provided in the room re free wifi and the only way to get the code was to call them on the hotel landline.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms at the front as the street appears to be a short cut for Saturday night locals on their drunken way home.

The good....woman who served breakfast was very pleasant.
The bad...the bedroom was small, depressing, on a slope, creaking floorboards, disgusting carpet, old furniture, bed was gored on one side and felt like sleeping on concrete, one flat pillow and a tv the size of an iPad. The shower room was, well let’s say we didn’t really want to touch anything in there - just yuck. The macerator system looked disgusting and was very noisy.
We could hear everything upstairs and next door ( nothing like listening to the sound of someone using the toilet is there?).
As another reviewer recently said - avoid at all costs.

A very warm welcome from the new owners, who, when they settle in will improve on what although very clean, is quite basic. The room was clean and functional and met all our needs, the breakfast was well presented and good quality served in a pleasant dining room. There is off street parking and it is walking distance from the Railway & Bus Stations and Town Centre where there are plenty of eating & drinking options. We were in Macclesfield in 4 inches of snow @ -4 plus an east wind chill factor but it didnt stop us having a great night out in this lively little town.

I needed to get to work early so booked a hotel close by. I paid for a double room and breakfast and when i got there i said i was leaving at 8am and he said breakfast at 8-30 so i would miss that but still charged me for breakfast. I was told and not shown where my room was and was nearly sick with the smell walking up 3 sets of stairs, i got there and was only a single bed. Smallest tv i have ever seen and mold all around toilet. Heating was not on and couldn`t wait to go work.
Do not stay at this so called hotel

Visited the Chadwick house hotel for a weekend break in Macclesfield.

The hotel has a homely feel to it. Room (double) is really clean and has all you would expect from a hotel in this range. Bed is comfortable. Shower areas is clean. Shower itself is perfect.

The hosts are really nice. Breakfast, cooked, is good. Keep in mind breakfast times fluctuate from early (7 - 815) midweeks to later in the weekend (830 - 930).

Overall a really nice hotel and a pleasant stay.
