“Fantastic food and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 May 2012

This is my third or fourth time dinning here and I have just had another lovely dinning experience at the Jamica Inn. On reading some of the earlier reviews, I was surprised and dubious, but I am so glad to say they were proved wrong. Myself and two others went for a late lunch today, the waiter was warm and friendly in his greeting and offered us a seaview table at the window when it become free. The menu was made up of all different types of meat and poultry aswell as sandwiches and lighter bites. As explained by the waiter, it was a new menu, but this did not seem to bother him at all and he took our order promptly and had good knowledge as to what it entailed.

The food came quickly and it was plentifull and delicious, I could rave on, but to sum it up, as ever lovely food and great service, I hope it won't be long till I am back.

me and my partner went for a meal last night, it was quiet but a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. We had starters and then the monkfish to follow that was recommended to us by the waiter serving us, it was amazing. the staff were very friendly and we will definitely be back. :)

“You just drove past the Salty Dog”

Wr love the Jamaica in and are regulars for after work well deserved drinks on the patio. Sadly it's a bit dark inside, great staff and service, but avg food. If you re out this way and want a drink with a great view call here. If you want food too, stop at one of the other restaraunts on the way round first and finish your night here.

“Nice atmosphere and good service but really poor food.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2012 via mobile

This promised to be good. My hairdresser recommended it. Nice atmosphere, pubby restaurant very relaxed. the menu too looked good. The food however was just below average fare - maybe OK if you only order steak and chips when you go out but it lacked any kind of flair and was generally bland. My steak came without even a tomato or lettuce leaf for garnish - just a piece of meat on a cold plate. the raspberry ripple cheesecake didn't have a singe raspberry in sight! Maybe the squeeze liquid drizzled over it was the raspberry - really tasteless like something you'd buy from the freezer in Asda. Bill for 2 for 2 courses and two glasses of house wine was £68. You could eat at the Boathouse for that! This is probably a lunchtime place - prawn open sandwich - dinner - we won't be back.
