Stayed here 1 night with hubby & another couple, we were showed to our room by a lovely lady & we were thrilled with the room, very cosy & the bed was so soft & comfy, it was very clean with lovely sheets & huge bouncy pillows,we both had a great nights sleep & lovely views in the morning from our window was a treat,we were well happy with breakfast, a good varied range of cereals, fruit & yoghurt & juice, followed by an amazing full cooked English breakfast with plenty of toast & tea & coffee. Car park has plenty of space. We sat outside in the lovley garden & ate our fish & chips before having a few drinks. Can't wait to go back again

Stayed one night using Pickering as a base to visit Whitby.
On arrival we were greeted by Sue who made us a pot of tea and biscuits. The room was clean, if a little small but had a nice view of the rear gardens. The hotel had a lounge area and has a license to serve alcohol but there is no bar, rather a chiller stocked with beer, spirits and wine. Breakfast was very good, the hotel went out of their way to get my partner gluten free bread and sausage,
There is a resident dog (Tilly) but she is no bother.
Location is good with a ten minute stroll to the town centre. Ample parking at the rear of the hotel.
My one moan would be the main roof beam that runs through room 7. I am nearly six foot tall and bumped my head no end of times.
You won't go far wrong staying here.
Thank you Sue, Val and the rest of the staff.

Thank you for your lovely review.
I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay.
Being convert from an Edwardian house and not a purpose built building does cause a bit
of problem with some of the rooms on the second floor so apologies for this if this caused you a problem but I am sure you will agree the views from this room are lovely.
Take care and hope we meet again.

Kind regards

Valerie

One night stay for a reunion. Good private parking. Rooms very reasonable with nice view from top floor. Location very close to town. The breakfast is wonderful and all the staff very friendly and helpful. Just what I wanted

Room Tip: I'd go for the top floor - quiet with a nice view

The owner, Valerie & her staff really went out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We were there for just shy of 2 weeks and the room was comfortable & en-suite. The breakfasts were excellent with the full monty of an English cooked breakfast & plenty of fruit/cereals & juices. When we first arrived we were made welcome & given a pot of tea. This was most welcome as the weather was a typical summers day, raining! Will certainly stay there again.

A solo one night stop, meeting up with friends in Pickering.
Arrived quite early and room wasn't ready. Parked up, my bag was taken and off I went into town to meet my friends.

I didn't get back until quite late, but my key had been left out for me and the bag was in my room. All good.

A friend of mine had coincidentally booked another room here and the proprietor knew so our rooms were adjacent and we had our breakfast table set up together. Thoughtful touch.

Rooms was a good size, had tea/coffee making facility and TV, a good shower and plenty of towels and pillows. Very comfortable. Very nice.

Breakfast was comprehensive. Served by friendly staff.

Location: about 5-10 mins from the railway and the centre.
Parking: room for about 6 or 7 cars around the back (I think there are just 7 rooms in the hotel).
No wifi that I could tell, but this wasn't an issue. EE/4G very good here.

Originally this was booked because I couldn't find anything else in Pickering for that day with parking. However, it would be my first choice next time.

Room Tip: I was on the top floor, room 5. No lift.

Thank you so much for your lovely review I am so pleased you had a good time
at the Old Manse - but was a little alarmed that we had been your last choice.
I will have to look at our advertising and see what I am doing wrong.
It was very nice meeting you both.
We do have Wi-Fi and you should have been given a password on arrival so
black mark to us.

Hope we meet again.

Kind regards Valerie
