“Like a home away from home”
Reviewed 15 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Lovely little cottage, the owners have really thought about everything that you could possibly need. Lots of nice extra touches such as the dressing gowns, toiletries welcome pack and kitchen essentials. The cottage is in a great location, with lots to do close by, we didn't have to drive much more than 20 miles to visit places such as Scarborough and Filey. We would recommend catching the steam train to Whitby, stopping off at the different stations on the way. On the road to Malton we discovered a pub called the Black Bull which served excellent, home cooked food and can highly recommend the scones in the tea room in Pickering. We would love to return one day and would highly recommend the cottage.

Thank you for sending your excellent review of Kings Haven. I am so pleased that you enjoyed the cottage and found it comfortable. Your recommendations regarding places to visit nearby and your discovery of good eateries provide future guests with independent assurances that Pickering is the best place to base their holiday.
I hope that you visit us again soon.

“Lovely little cottage in Pickering”
Reviewed 30 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Kingshaven is everthing that is says it is in its description, and John is a very welcoming host the little local goody package is most appreciated as there is no need to panic for immediate essentials to eat and drink. The cottage is extremely well equiped and lacks for nothing to enhance your stay, John was even able to influence the weather for our weeks stay it was brilliant. If you are looking for a good base to cover NYM's area and hope to use buses and trains this is an ideal spot there is plenty going on around, lots of places to visit, and many places to eat, with an abundance of information provided by John at the cottage. Should we revisit this part of Yorkshire again I would have no hestation in returning to Kingshaven.

“A great find!”
Reviewed 14 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

A lovely comfortable cottage, fully equipped, situated in an ideal location for the coast, moors and amenities locally. The owners Welcome Pack was surprisingly generous. A good chance to experience living in an old cottage, furnished beautifully. We had a great time there and so will you.

“Look no further for the Best Cottage Holiday In Pickering”
Reviewed 4 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

The accommodation for the Kings Haven is by far the best we have stayed in, from the facilities to the bed linen it could not have been any better, My husband is poorly and my main concern was the bed, but i had no idea that it was that comfortable and if i could have fitted it into the car i would have taken it home.
So Thank you John for what was a perfect stay with the added bonus of a few added extras in the Food department. I do hope that we can revisit in the future and will recommend to all family and friends.

Thank you for a most positive review and for leaving the bed! I think one of its secret is the memory foam topper. Glad to hear that you enjoyed the area and had a relaxing break. It would be good to see you on a return trip when we will guarantee you a warm welcome. Best wishes John and Julie

“a perfect home from home”
Reviewed 7 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

A lovely, cosy, homely cottage. The location is ideal for visiting the north Yorkshire area with leaflets on places of interest, picturesque walks, eateries and Pickering itself. There is a good welcome pack where you pick your choice of bread and milk and eggs from John and Jenny's own chickens. The bed was extremely comfortable and a nice touch were the dressing gowns which were included. Everything was there that you could wish for and we would certainly recommend this cottage to anyone visiting this area.
