We had a great 5 nights at the grade-II listed Pear Tree House BnB in Pickering. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, well fitted, with an excellent ensuite. Despite being on a busy road, thick walls and secondary glazing meant road noise was never a problem. Our hosts, Sarah and Chris were friendly and very helpful, but never intrusive. Our breakfasts were excellent, with a good variety of fruit, yoghurt and cereal and the cooked to order dishes were filling and tasty. There was ample off-road parking. Pear Tree House was within easy walking distance of the Market Square, good restaurants and fantastic chippies and the North Yorkshire Moors railway.

My wife and I spent 5 nights here in the Gable Room. Having been welcomed with tea and cake, the standard was set for the rest of our stay. The room was very spacious with a good en-suite. Everything was clean, extremely comfortable and had everything that we required. The breakfasts were excellent (I strongly recommend the Scottish Pancakes!!). Nothing seemed to be too much trouble to the owners.
The town centre (including the Heritage Railway Station) was an easy walk away and the off-street parking was an added bonus.
Pickering is very handy for access to York, the North Yorkshire Moors, Whitby etc. and we would highly recommend the Pear Tree B & B and will certainly look to stay there if we return to the area.

Very clean and tidy B n B. One thing I did notice was it smelt really fresh and nice.
Our room had what we needed and the bathroom was a good size.
Chris was on his own the weekend we stayed and he did a great job. Tea and cake upon arrival which was lovely and breakfast was delicious.
I would definitely recommend and would stay again if we were in the area.

We stayed for two nights in this lovely B&B. We had the Gable room at the front. The room had a lovely comfy bed, a sofa and a table with a kettle and tea, coffee, biscuits and bottled water. Great powerful shower in the en-suite with huge fluffy towels, shampoo, gel and lotion provided too. The breakfast (ordered the previous night) was amazing. The black pudding and sausages were the best I have ever eaten. There is a good choice of cereal, fruit, fruit juices, coffee and teas.
I would highly recommend Pear Tree House and I hope to be back soon.

Room tip: Gable room is at the front so it's a good idea to have ear plugs

Two night stop over to enjoy Pickering and the surrounding area.
The B&B itself is really well situated, just a short walk to the nearest pub (which is excellent) and a bit farther into the town, with off street parking which is a real bonus.
The owners are very friendly and do a nice sausage sandwich in the morning!

We stayed in the garden room which was very clean, quiet and the bed was really comfy.

Would definitely recommend and we would certainly return if ever in the area again.
Thanks
