Nice Place. A quiet Sunday evening meal, apart from too large portions. Good starters and excellent roast dinners. A good bottle of Malbec, staff that know how to serve/pour wine and a good expresso.

Went with friends who we're treating me for my Birthday. The meal was lovely, three of us had ginormous lamb shanks with fresh vegetables and my husband had the (large) haddock. Debbie and her staff delivered a wonderful quality of customer service, including keeping my husband in check! Thank you all for a really memorable meal and an enjoyable time.

What a stroke of luck. A twist of fate and bad timing meant that we could not get a table at the pub nearest to our campsite. I have to say they were gracious and so we headed up hill to the White Horse Farm Inn. It was not our first walk of the day and we were pushing a chunky twenty month old, some of us had carried him in a macpac around the Dale during the day and were feeling the climb. We pushed on and arrived at our destination.

The staff could not have been any more courteous and helpful in seating us and providing a high chair for lumpy. We ordered a round of Thwaites which to be fair didn't really touch the sides. The second round followed quickly. The ladies switched to a bottle of Voignier, against the advice of the fantastic waitress, she had had a bottle rejected earlier in the day, and was deemed as pleasant ( they didn't leave a drop). The boys had sirloin rare and the ladies lasagne. Steaks were cooked perfectly and tasty and the chips were awesome. The ladies troughed their lasagnes, my only criticism is that the garlic there from is lingering 24hrs later, sorry love. We met some lovely other diners who were so understanding of the midget who, as a budding cricketer, was launching the condiments at all and sundry, until he was caught at cow. Due to the late hour, Joe Root jnr needed to rest up and grudgingly we packed up, paid and exited.

I would highly recommend a visit, and when next up at Rosedale ( please less rain) we will be making for the White Horse Inn and look forward to working our way through the menu as highlighted elsewhere on this site.

Went with friends during a stay in Rosedale. The menu had something for everyone and the service in the bar and restaurant was excellent. Good value although I would have liked some more variety on the wine list. I would agree with one of the other reviewers, the lambs liver is really good.
