Lovely hotel in a quiet area ,staff very helpful .lovely terrace and pool ,but weather was bad so couldn't use but would be lovely in good weather .hotel is about a 5 minute walk from town ,walk back up is a bit of a climb but ok .Hotel does evening bar snacks ,limited choice, but if compared to breakfast would be oh good standard .will DEFINATELY stay here again .

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are available

We had a family room with one double and one single with an adjoining room with bunk beds. Great fast WiFi and lovely full breakfasts included. Ten minutes walk from Saundersfoot town centre down steep hill. Good sized warm pool. Staff were all friendly and helpful

We've just returned from another family stay at the Merlewood. We've been visiting for the past 20 years and this year returned with my 4 month old who also had a lovely time. All the staff are so friendly and will help in anyway they can to ensure you have a good stay. We visited with my family and the staff entertained my nephew and niece, listening to all of their adventures they had during the day.

Breakfast is great, you can choose what you'd like from the buffet - continental or full english and it's all freshly cooked.

The pool has just been refurbished and it's a lovely area to sit out on and enjoy the sunshine and views.

Thank you Pauline and all at Merlewood for another great stay!

The room was clean and tidy, although being a single, a little compact. TV was available for those rainy days.
Staff were cheerful and helpful.
A large entertainment room, was underused.
The hotel had an outdoor pool, very suitable for family use.
Breakfast was good, with a range of hot and continental offerings. However, these were separate from the room rate. Bit of a faff, as the hotel wants you to guess whether you want full english or continental at the beginning of your stay; and then pay (although it's not obligatory). As it's a family hotel, with children and adults changing their minds, and wanting a little of both, I think it would be easier if the hotel added £6 to the room rate, and left people to help themselves.
Housekeeping for my room, last one in a long corridor, was variable. Sometimes teabags, sometime not; similarly with milk, biscuits, and bubble bath sachets.
Bus from Tenby passes the door. A nice hotel with a little modernisation needed.

If what your looking for is a cheap, clean, break away don't look any further. The Merelwood hotel is definately 2 star, what you do get is clear, quiet, not a bad night sleep. What you do not get is up to date decor, mod cons. I think for a cheap break away this is the ticket. Staff are friendly and it's a stones throw to a lovely beach.
