“Fab family holiday house - you'll love it”
Reviewed 24 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We - grandparents, mums and dads plus 2 youngsters have just returned from a fabulous week at Oceana. As others have already said it's a very welcoming house that kind of invites you to come on in, kick your shoes off, put your feet up and relax.
You go in at lounge and kitchen level. The views are truly stunning. The early morning light on the bay is beautiful and the sunsets on the hills behind are lovely. The sofas and chairs in the lounge are very comfy. There is a large wall mounted TV if you want it. The kitchen is huge and extremely well fitted. The kitchen equipment is great in both quality and quantity. Frankly, I just wanted to fold it up and take it home with me. We all ate in there on two nights around the big extending family table.

From this floor there is a central staircase which then takes you down to the other levels. Going up and down that was great for counteracting the holiday calorie intake!

The next two levels down in the house have two bedrooms each. They are very spacious, and the beds are very comfortable. Two of the bedrooms have shower rooms, the other two have jaccuzzi baths with shower over. My husband& I swapped half way through the week with our daughter, son-in-law & little grandson, so we had benefit of an all singing/dancing shower and a jacuzzi.

On the first bedroom floor there is also another smaller room which can be a games room or a separate bedroom for a child. We used it as the latter. There were also quite a few toys in there too which were very much played with. It gave Mum & Dad a little bit of privacy with the security of knowing that their youngster was right next door, and, if you need stair gates there are about three of them at the house.

On the second bedroom level there is a utility room again very well equipped with a full sized Zannussi washer and separate dryer.

Down one more half level is the door to the pool and access to the deck. The pool is lovely. It is truly heated and has a non-slip lining. For me as a non-swimmer it was great. I felt very safe in it. In a normal British summer an indoor pool would be a Godsend, weather-wise. Even though we had benefit of the recent amazing weather, it was still lovely to comeback to the pool each day. We just left the doors to the deck open .

The owner Rob Williams is lovely. Throughout the booking process he always dealt with any queries promptly and patiently. I left my eternity ring at the house and our other grandma left her camera.Must be an age thing! Rob recovered them for us very promptly and sent them to us - owe you a bottle or something for that, Rob. He also returned the damage deposit cheque equally promptly.

Saundersfoot itself is a lovely traditional seaside town. We had old fashioned fish and chip suppers and proper ice cream cornets on the way home. There are also more modern eateries and bars if you want them. There are some supermarkets to stock up the fridge, and a wonderful butchers. Can't now remember the name but you can't miss it - on the corner on the little roundabout in the town centre - best lamb burger ever!

All in all, my advice on Oceana is just go there - you'll love it. Hard to please if you don't.
