I knew I was going to be visiting BofA today, so last night thought I'd do a wee bit of research as to the best place for a lunch break. I was disappointed to read some of the poor reviews for the Westerton and had decided not to eat there today, but time was a constraint and the easy parking at the rear of the Westerton made it the easiest option in the end. We are so very pleased that we did end up at the Westerton. The lovely lass (long auburn hair) met us very cheerfully, and gave us a choice of tables. The menus were already on the table and we were immediately offered drinks and had the specials menu explained. We chose honey and parsnip soup for starters followed by the steak pie, and mac cheese, both served with a choice of rustic chips (beautiful) or garlic bread. The girl and her colleague (tall dark haired chap) were attentive without any unnecessary hovering about, and the tables and cutlery were spotless. We overheard the chef when we were paying our bill at bar and he was talking about being excited about buying a fancy new blender, so obviously someone who is passionate about what he is doing. All round, we could not fault. Okay, this is not Michelin style dining, however, it is worth every penny, and more, for a good hearty lunch, with excellent staff. Well done Westerton kitchen and waiting staff ! Heartily recommend.
