“Lamb shanks; mmmm”

As Orwell's is in the ground floor of the Crowne Plaza Hotel & also functions as the breakfast facility, it is a little lacking in atmosphere. However, the food was very delicious and plentiful. A nourishing plate of lamb shank with creamy mash and roasted roots? What.Is.Not.To.Love? #fullupandhappy..

We were obliged to stay one night at the Crowne Plaza London Heathrow as we missed our flight back home from Chicago. So we had dinner at this restaurant located on the ground level of the hotel. We had the chicken tika massala served with rice aside and a dip for the piece of Naan bread, we also had the chicken sub sandwich served with potato chips aside. The food was average not tasty nor bad. Service was acceptable.

Ate here with a group of colleagues whilst staying on business. They wouldn't let us have a table for 8, despite not being full it was apparently too hard to move tables together so we had 2 tables for 4 next to each other.

We all had steak in various forms, and it was pretty good for a hotel restaurant, where shifting volume is often more important than quality. All cooked as requested, and decent quality. Only gripe was sauces/butters (all at extra cost) were all 'forgotten' until staff were reminded, and the house 'slaw was £3.50 for the smallest ramekin of non-homemade coleslaw. Didn't have desert, as £8 each seemed quite steep for basic offerings.

On the whole, not bad. Make sure they deliver everything you order though!
