Went to my wife's firm's Christmas do yesterday evening at the King William IV. I expected to get the same disappointing Christmas dinner fare served up by most pubs and restaurants.
What we did get, 12 of us, was a friendly reception and service, a good attentive service and probably the best Christmas dinner I've had out for the past several years. I chose the wrong starter, it was good, but the other starters looked more exciting. The licensee, hopefully to be the full tenant in the next couple of months, was very attentive to the regulars as well as us. Hopefully this pub/restaurant will survive the Heathrow pontification ongoing at present. I went to the King William IV last summer for a most tasty Thia meal as well.
