The Giltar is in a great location, right on the Esplanade and 5 minutes from the town centre.
Staff are friendly and breakfast is good and plentiful, although finer details like sauce in sachets let it down.
Our room (415) was quite cosy and had a partial sea view from the back of the hotel, however it was dated and was badly in need of a refurb. The mattress was awful and needs replacing urgently. The tv is old and tiny and there is no fridge in the room.
On the plus side the shower was hot and powerful. However, the bathroom has automatic lighting which stays on for about 10 mins so if somebody uses it in the night the light and the extractor fan noise wakes up all occupants.
The exit from the 4th floor was not well signed, would definitely not fancy my chances of getting out if there was a fire.
