2tar hotel with 10 star views and lovely staff

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 28 Aug 2024via mobile
The view from room is outstanding. Staff are welcoming, polite and work really hard whilst maintaining a happy to help manner. The breakfast was good and wholesome. The rooms are very clean if somewhat dated and my deluxe double perhaps over expensive for the area.

a good hotel in a prime position with sea views from the front of the hotel. rooms are a little small we had 223 facing the beer garden at the back of the hotel, they do have one on the cliff top open to non residents, hotel is open to non residents until 7pm Beer starts at £4 a pint happy hour 5.30 to 6.30 and 8pm to 9 pm singer every night, NO bingo. food is excellent, staff are excellent dinner 6.30 " Hubert" is a " one off" been at the hotel 52 years. as with most of Tenby the hotel is dog friendly

Room tip: Ask for sea view

Paid for sea view and so glad as it was lovely, staff all really friendly, great garden area at the back and bar prices were really good. easy to walk to beach, town and not far from long stay car park .
Room was not over big (but the bed was huge !) but it has everything you need, we were there for a short 4 night break, bathroom was great too and cleaned every day.
Would definitely return.

Room tip: Hotel bar is open to non residence at certain times and gets busy, however the bar is well staffed and hardly any wait.

Visited here as part of a coach tour courtesy of DUNWOOD TRAVEL (Dudley). Had not stayed here for many years and decided it was time to return.
A grade 2 listed building on a quiet street.Entry is by a few steps or a ramp, this leads into a small lobby area, containing the stairs and the lift (this area can get congested at certain times) Reception is situated to the left of the entrance and this then leads into a comfortable lounge containing a selection of books and games. The Dining room is situated to the right of the lobby.
Bedrooms are over 5 floors. Ours was on the 2nd, clean, a decent size with a comfortable bed and benefiting of a wet room shower. This room overlooked the beer garden,(I cannot comment on other rooms but did not hear many gripes).
The Bar is situated off the entrance lobby, and offers a reasonable selection of drinks. The beer garden is a popular area on sunny days and offers plenty of seating.
The Dining room runs the length of the building and could be described as cosy when the hotel is full. Waiting staff work really hard delivering the food from the kitchen (food quality was excellent, delivered hot, on hot plates and good sized portions. Congratulations chef and your team) and always with a smile. All the staff we encountered were courteous always had a smile and were eager to help in any way they could.
A nice place to chill for a few days and take in Tenby.

First impressions was that the hotel is in need of a full on renovation. It is very much stuck in a time warp of at least a couple of decades ago. Our rood was on level 1 facing the sea front. A small room but manageable. Bathroom small with a shower requiring the agility of a ballet dancer to negotiate. Room well appointed with a good quality and working television, very good Wi Fi and kettle. The room and public areas are kept clean and tidy to a exceptable standard. All the staff spoken too were very friendly and professional and a joy to deal with. My wife and I were on a coach holiday so mass catering was provided. Not bad breakfasts but over five night dinner was of varying standards. A bit hit and miss. We enjoyed our stay, particularly the two bar happy hours each night.

Do not stay in room 219 in this hotel , it’s dire . No wardrobes no bedside tables , sink in the room , have to walk out bathroom to wash hands . Really small room , could smell dog wee . The view was beautiful, but we did have bad wind and rain , the window leaked in , and the wind blew the blind down , and it was freezing cold , the staff came and put towels on the window , and did put the heating on , if we hadn’t have been on coach trip we would not of stayed there . The food was lovely and all the staff were lovely and friendly , especially the chap that served us our evening meals , and the bar staff were lovely . Don’t let that room out again until it has been refurbished
