What a welcoming hotel- We visited here with a coach company called GB Tours and were greeted by Julie the manager who welcomed us with a nice cup of tea in the hotel lounge whilst they sorted out our rooms and took our luggage up to our rooms. I must admit to reading the reviews for this hotel on trip advisor and they couldnt be more wrong as this hotel was wonderful - The staff - the meals the rooms all very nice and even on our last day the lady in the restaurant asked us if we wanted to order sandwiches for our journey home, what a nice thing to do. Thank you Palm Court would love to come back again one day I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to anyone

My wife and I spend a very enjoyable weekend at the Palm Court Hotel, its a great location near the front and a short walk to the harbour. The weather was great which was a bonus and we walked behind the hotel to the tunnel beaches a very pleasant afternoon. We also went on a bout ride from the harbour which again as excellent. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and courteous, the room was spacious and clean and the food was very nice. We recommend Ilfracombe and the Palm Court

Let's start with the good
an excellent self serve breakfast, clean linen in rooms, good daytime receptionist(s), roomy dinning area and bar.
Now it all goes down hill.poor choices for evening meal which was all frozen, couldn't have an extra piece of bread with soup, anything above shoulder height very dusty, maintenance left if reported after 1PM including water mixing with electrics, miserable arrogant woman on bar/reception at night. night porter that couldn't care less (sounded like hotel being broken into at 3 am what do you want me to do?). 11 year old tourism stickers on door as a welcome.

On the negative side,I came as a single traveller i was given a poky room right above the bar with speakers on the bar ceiling,so consequently, after a very tiring 11hr journy,I couldn't get to sleep each night until after the bar closed as the thump thump of the music underneath made it impossible . the last night was the worst, when a very talented girl on the keyboards played so loudly that it seemed she was in my room.I had no bedside table(no room) so had to sit at the foot of the bed to drink my cuppa,as rhge was nowhere to put my cup if I sat up in bed. Ask for a room above the 1st floor, these seemed to be better the choice of food was very poor,we give better to our people at the drop in centre, side salad was loads of lettuce and a few strands of green peppers ugh,
On the positive, the staff were lovely, especially the smiley Spanish girl who seemed to be jill of all trades, nothing was too much trouble.
As a single person I paid £30 more than a couple for my holiday and feel that I should have been given a more spacious and comfortable room than I had

Room Tip: Don't go on the 1st floor
