We attended this hotel to meet with family who were staying there and to enjoy an evening meal in the restaurant. Prior to our meal we had drinks in the small bar, which is located on the lower level, in the ballroom. This bar served basic drinks, but there were draught beers and one draught cider available. On this particular evening there was a country and western singer, who did his best to entertain a mainly elderly audience who were there on a coach trip. We then attended the restaurant, located at the next lower level. We immediately noted that this facility was decorated in green pastel shades, and a number of our party immediately exclaimed "Butlins", a reaction from the decor and the way in which the tables were arranged. The service was good, but the food was over-cooked and very plain. In fact the vegetables were mush. Our relatives who were staying at the hotel advised that the rooms were "basic but adequate". We won't ever return there again.
