Spindrift cottage has everything you could possibly want for a weeks holiday. It is equipped with all modern appliances, the decorations and furniture are excellent and it is warm and cosy. Julie provides all bed linen, towels, cloths, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and washing powder. We were made to feel welcome and the wine, milk, tea, coffee, sugar and home made bread were a lovely surprise.
The location is perfect for exploring The Cairngorm National Park and in particular The Strathspey area. The village of Kingussie is just up the road and has all amenities.
We had an excellent week and can't recommend it enough.

“Well designed clean cottage. Excellent.”
Reviewed 20 September 2012 for a stay in September 2012

This review concerns Sundowner Cottage, a mirror image of Spindrift Cottage to which it is attached. This is a purpose built holiday cottage, which means that the layout is tailored to the holiday maker's needs. The cottage is immaculate and well equipped, a benefit of having the owners on site and doing the cleaning themselves. Julie and John are very welcoming and attentive to your needs. We felt at home very quickly, and enjoyed the availability of walking routes of all levels in the area, from forest strolls to mountain walks. We cooked all of our own meals and found everything we needed in the kitchen, all of a good quality.

All in all an excellent holiday cottage that we felt very happy with as soon as we walked in.

“Fantastic, best self catering accomodation we've stayed in!”
Reviewed 9 June 2012 for a stay in May 2012

A warm & friendly welcome from John & Julie. Accomodation immaculately clean with comfortable quality furniture. A patio with garden furniture meant a comfortable outdoor area for the good weather.
Gardens are well kept with bird feeders so enjoyed watching a large variety of birds from comfort of cottage. John also has bird boxes with cameras relayed to TV. We loved watching babies being fed and whilst we were there all chicks fledged. Fabulous.
Easy access to Aviemore, Cairngorms and Loch Garten where we saw Osprey chicks at RSPB site.
Wonderful week. Will definately return.

“A great week in agreat place”
Reviewed 20 April 2012 for a stay in April 2012

Like a previous guest, we have stayed in this area many times, in a variety of different types of accomodation, but this one did indeed tick all the boxes. Our party was two adults and 1 child aged 9.

I know from self catering in the past, you end up spenid the first day running back and forward to the shop buying all the bits that you've forgotten to pack, but this was not the case here. The kitchen was well equipped, dishwasher, and dishwasher tablets. A welcome of milk, freshly baked bread (which put our plans for a visit to the Happy Haggis for chips on hold for a night as we dined on bread our first evening) and a bottle of wine. Tea, coffee milk was also a very welcome touch as the kettle was on within minutes of arriving. Wifi worked well, and the bird box also kept us entertained. We took our own satellite box, so not sure what channels were included.

The table tennis provided a welcome half hour distraction.. The walk to Kingussie was the right length when it wasn't raining and too far when it was! The train station was also within walking distance so it would be possible to visit using public transport.

Plenty towels, pillows and cosy duvets, the house was warm and the showers good.

Loads to do in the area, without needing to spend a fortune too.

“Look no further - this accommodation is perfect”
Reviewed 9 April 2012 for a stay in March 2012

Spindrift cottage was one of the best self catering properties we have ever stayed at. The cosy and warm accommodation is very well equipped and spotless and from the moment we arrived it felt like home from home. The location is ideal for many attractions with all amenities close by. John and Julie, the owners, were very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. If you are looking for self catering property in this area look no further - you won't be disappointed.
