We booked last min so it was over £100 a night and for that I would expect to have at least some sort of room service over 3 nights. No offer of clean towels, no replenishing of tea/coffee. The toilet paper was so cheap and the view was a tatty garden.
The night entertainment in the bar went on after midnight which as a single mum with my 10 year old I could have done without but it’s a holiday so accepted. No wifi!!! Literally nothing - it dropped out constantly and that was so frustrating !!!
Breakfast was rather limited - for over £100 a night I was expecting to be able to maybe choose more that fry-up and bacon butty.

Overall it was nice … we felt safe, shower was good and staff when we did see them were pleasant enough ….It was just very ‘ok’ and I think they just need to step it up a bit.

Stayed for one night on a short break with my wife and teenage daughter in a triple room. Good sized room with three single beds. Room looked a bit tired and ready for redecoration, but clean, plenty of room for 3 people, and plenty of storage space if we had been staying longer.

We booked breakfast as well, which was good value for a generous and very good full English with orange juice, tea and toast. Table service was quick, efficient and friendly.

Comfortable bar and lounge in the evening with friendly service and the cost of drinks was reasonable.

Good location just a few minutes walk to the High Street or the main promenade and beach. There is also a small park across the road from the hotel and a (very steep) path down tothe beach. Nice little beach bar at the foot of the path where you can pause to refuel before tackling the path back up to the hotel!

Overall we were very happy with the hotel and location and hope to go back for a longer stay next time we visit the Isle of Wight.

This hotel is like Fawlty Towers but without the laughs. No soap- surely a must for a hotel. We went and bought our own. one set of towels for three nights, and one hook for towels, coats, swimsuits so nothing go dry. Arrived 3 hours after check in Room not made up, went to dinner came back at 8pm. Room not made up (could see the stained mattress cover ) were told couldnt go in once it was occupied due to Covid. So instead of making it up while we were out they waited til there were four of us in the small room. No masks worn anywhere even serving breakfast - which took over 40 mins to arrive. No cleaning of the room or bins emptied. So sand got everywhere. Abs one day we left the key in the room. Manager tried about 50 unidentified keys with no success (maybe why this is why they don't clean the rooms not Covid!) someone had to break in through 2nd floor window as no spare key! Wall paper peeling off, filthy valance that was removed but not replaced. Empty picture hooks. Grubby and tired. I knew it was cheap and cheerful but it is possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

We stayed in a family room and what immediately hit us was the really strange smell in the room. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls and the room was really dated. I know that this is the age of the pandemic, but our room wasn’t cleaned the whole time we were there (3 nights) or our bin emptied. We requested a remote control for our tv and soap for the bathroom 3 times, but nothing!

Not exactly a sea view- we overlooked a yard, featuring a broken toilet!

On a positive, the beds were clean, there were lots of clean towels and the pressure in the shower was good! Plus it was only a few minutes’ walk to the beach and pier.

PS if you want to eat, book!! The whole island seems to be booked up and unable to cope at the moment!

Room tip: If you want to eat out, book! The whole island seems to be booked up at the moment! Customer service is pretty poor….

Very convenient location. Very nice room views. Very helpful staff. Good service for money considering how IOW is quite expensive.

Breakfast is excellent with vegetarian option.

Limited parking onsite so you need to look around for a space to park.
