We spent a short break at watch cottage and wished we had booked a week. A 6 hour drive up to Cove was well worth it. The cottage is a relaxing haven away from the hussle and bussle of normal life. It's very well presented with all you could want or need. We loved spotting a the quirky little items scattered around. What gives the cottage a wow factor is the watch room itself. Panoramic views over the cliffs out to sea meant we spent evenings and mornings just staring out to sea . Location wise it's perfect for a peaceful retreat. We loved walking down to the harbour and going through the tunnel to the small beach side, the coastal paths and short mile walk into the village are all lovely and idyllic.
We can't wait to return , I'm sure the cottage is perfect in any weather.
Beautiful cottage in a beautiful cliff top location. Clean, tidy and everything we needed was there. The view from 'The Watch' (dining room with a view) was stunning. Spent some time on the rocky beach below the cottage and at the Cove harbour, aswell as visiting Dunbar and Seacliff beach (on the way to North Berwick).
The bottle of Prosecco, chocolate biscuits and oat biscuits was a lovely welcome! Thanks.
We were only here for a long weekend participating in the European Stone Stacking Championships in Dunbar, but will be back next year for the same event, so if the cottage is available I know where we will be staying.
The cottage is well equipped in a stunning location. Unfortunately we were caught in "the beast from the east" weather. We did not manage to get out much but we were very warm and cosy and very comfortable. Beverley was brilliant and rang to see we were o.k. and we had to stay I extra night as we could not get home. A big thank you. We enjoyed the break and just relaxed. The dogs loved it.
