We only visited this restaurant because we couldn't get in somewhere else, even though we were staying right next door, but were so glad we did. It's kind of hidden a bit because it's down a level, but it's a hidden gem!
Service straight away was excellent, a table was found for us immediately. We asked for some olives to have with the drinks we ordered whilst we studied the menu, and these came promptly.
The menu is fairly standard Italian, which is in no way a criticism, with the usual nods to other styles. what matters is that the food is of a very good standard and the service is excellent. I had a salmon and pasta dish, whilst my partner had a salmon steak with a cajun coating I think, and salad. Mine was faultless, and my partner's was absolutely beautiful
We also particularly enjoyed the atmosphere of the place, with good, but not overly bright lighting, and a very interesting and atmospheric collection of photos on the walls of Hollywood stars and singers; iconic images of the rat pack,Marylin Munroe and the likes. But what really makes the atmosphere is the staff in a restaurant, and here they all seem happy to serve you and be there.
To finish I ordered a rich, indulgent cheese cake (can't remember the exact description), which came with two spoons so that we could share it, which was delicious.
A very good bottle of Frascati accompanied the meal.
The food and the wine were all very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try!
