We have stayed here before and were so impressed that we were determined to return. The New Year 3 night package was the perfect opportunity. We found the staff to be just as helpfull and the food and service excellent during this stay.

We have been visiting the Royal at Christmas for over twenty years and it just gets better and better. The fact that this is a family run hotel makes all the difference. The attention to detail and the personal touches always make us feel welcome. The food is superb and American guests staying with us this year were particularly impressed. Nothing is too much trouble and we would recommend this very special hotel to anyone.

Our fourth visit to the Royal Hotel and every time it seems to get better. We've just enjoyed their New Year package along with two friends. This hotel is elegant without being snobbish, the rooms vary in size and outlook and have everything in them that you need, comfortable beds, tea/coffee making facilities, either showers or bath with shower, bath robes available upon request, all kept spotlessly clean. There is parking available either directly across the road or behind the hotel. The gardens are a delight and even in December their wonderful climbing geranium on the front of the hotel is in flower. The staff are friendly and efficient and go the extra mile to ensure that you have everything that you need. The piece de resistance for us though is the amazing food. I can't remember when I've enjoyed such consistently good meals. Breakfast has a vast choice which due to current covid rules has to be bought to your table but the service was fast and efficient. Our evening meal choices were outstanding and there is a comprehensive wine list. Ventnor seafront is at the bottom of a very steep hill which isn't suitable for everyone but there are lovely scenic drives from the hotel and charming places to visit on the flat.
