Hotel is situated at the top of a steep hill which is not ideal unless you have a car. Lovely hotel with much character, breakfast is an experience with humour in plenty from andy the waiter.

In summary a great week to either relax by the indoor or outdoor pool, or for the energetic to walk or cycle to the local villages.

Stayed at Bourne hall country hotel for a week , we booked the lady osbourne suite and was not disappointed, very relaxing room with plenty of space to unwind in after a busy day. Used the indoor swimming pool which was great for lengths and relaxing in.
We used the restaurant in the hotel most night and is indeed a secret gem the food is amazing...people really need to try the restaurant you will not be disappointed.
The staff at the hotel are amazing , full of local information of where to go and what I see, all the staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome and special , never making you feel they had to rush off, always able to have a chat which was lovely.
Will indeed return to this very beautiful hotel.

We had a lovely week staying at the Bourne Hall Hotel. The staff were very welcoming upon arrival, the facilities were excellent and the breakfasts were fantastic with a very cheerful, humorous waiter which made for a good start to every day.
My mum and I had a standard twin room, which was plenty big enough, although slightly dated (but that is what you expect in this type of accommodation).

If you are not taking your car take note that the hill is very steep up from the village-but we put a positive spin on it saying it was walking off our cream teas and ice creams!

Little things like providing a proper hairdryer rather than a travel one (if you have long, thick hair I would recommend bringing your own) and a mini fridge to keep drinks cool could be good for the future. But these are only minor suggestions, as we had a very comfortable, pleasant stay here and would definitely stay here again. Thank you having us!

Stayed in Shanklin for a short pre-birthday treat as it accessible by train from London Pleased with this slightly old fashioned hotel ,red walls, leather armchairs .It was comfortable ,lovely views from our premier room
Food was good ,staff helpful and friendly .Nice swimming pool and little sauna

My only quibble were the toiletries which were rather mean ,nasty little sachets and I think a false economy .I would have liked some conditioner and body lotion .
That aside it was a very nice stay,to be recommended

Room Tip: Think it is worth getting the premier room for the view over the bay

A traditional English seaside hotel in a great location. In need of some investment and modernisation. Rather old fashioned. There is no gym despite some websites stating otherwise, which was a disappointment as thats a feature we always look for. Indoor pool is ideal for a relaxing swim. Pool shower is a small closet affair, does the job but not high end. Best to shower back in your room.
Drinks Bar closes at 10:30 as does the front door. Breakfast buffet is average but tinned mushrooms is a poor product for the price paid. A good base from which to explore the island. Staff very friendly and helpful. Spa services available from a visiting therapist. Wifi didn't work in our room but did work in the lobby.
