Stayed over the Xmas period (4-nights) glad it wasn't longer. First room was really mis-mashed with half of the bathroom being in the bedroom, not nice with the tea station being next to the sink. After complaining we were moved to a family room with 2 single beds and 1 double bed, better room and separate bathroom. Rooms very dated both décor and furniture. Rooms tidied & towels changed daily. Food was plentiful although too much for 2 people, so lots of waste, and I think most of it came out of the freezer. With the owner/chef coming from the black country, he assumes we prefer quantity to quality, not what we paid for....
This was with Parry's Coaches and I think they could have done better. Would we go to the Isle of Wight again, no sorry we will be voting with our feet.

Room Tip: If you are disabled in anyway, note there is no lift in this hotel

Stayed for 7 nights. The hotel is well located for Shanklin town as well as the sea front and plentiful walks. My second floor room was clean, towels were refreshed daily. There were plenty of clothes hangers, good quality bathroom toiletries, well stocked in-room refreshments and all day access to the ironing room. The dining room is well set out and residents have access to a quiet lounge as well as the pool. There is a well stocked bar with plentiful seating. Meals were varied and generous. The wait staff were excellent - always ready to help even under pressure on some occasions. Thanks to Barry and the Audley family and Queensmead team.

Room Tip: No lift but hotel staff will assist with luggage if required

my wife and i have just spent 7nights here on a buckleys coach trip,we could not fault the hotel, very friendly and the food was excellent and plentiful . the owner barry was very helpful and mixed with his clients.our room was nice and had a sea view, only problem for us we have to have a oxygen machine delivered and there was not enough room, barry said he would have given us a bigger room if he had known, but they were fully booked,we will definatley go back again. would highly reccomend this hotel, the service in the restaraunt was excellent staff friendly and did not rush you. good entertainment overall excellent.

the hotel was clean my room was ok for me I ended up with twin bed room so had plenty of room . the bathroom need up dating tiles round the bath a bit grubby
.food was quantity not quality a lot of food was wasted don't know how the owner Barry makes a profit the down side was the hotel was not open for food or drinks during the day.You had to go out for everything during the day after breakfast not good if you are feeling unwell as i was one of the days. Barry the owner needs to think of his guests more. I loved The Isle Of Wight but will choose a different hotel next time

Room Tip: take good walking shoes cafe and shops a fair walk
