“Lovely cottage”
Reviewed 12 March 2019 for a stay in November 2018

Everything you need. Great away from it all location but not isolated. The owner couldn't have been more helpful. It is spotlessly clean and the beds are very comfortable. Lovely open fire so it was warm and cosy. Beautifully quiet. Lovey beaches nearby and easy to get to Edinburgh in 20 mins from the train at Dunbar. Best of both worlds.

“Country, coast and Edinburgh - An ideal short break "home from home"”

This location is ideal for access by car from the south, just 2 miles off the A1, easy to find, an attractive little village surrounded by rolling countryside, also near to a sandy beach at Thorntonloch, and less than 15 minutes in the car to Dunbar, which is a fine little town in its own right, and has a good rail connection with Edinburgh, about a 20 minute train journey right into the centre of the city. We were able to pack a lot of activities into our short break and this cottage and its location suited us very well. Comfortable beds and sitting room, excellent car access and parking right outside the door, very good privacy and its own sheltered garden. Short walk along a quiet lane to a stream and sheep grazing, and saw deer close up while out early morning. A relaxing base for exploring the area.

“Excellent cottage, great location. You won't be disappointed”
Reviewed 24 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Oldhamstocks cottage is in a great location being 40 minutes to Edinburgh and 10 Minutes to a great beach. The cottage is bigger than it looks in the pictures, there was plenty of room for our family consisting of my wife and I and two teenagers. The beds were so comfortable and the welcome pack was a lovely touch.
We have stayed in lots of cottages (normally superior grade) all over the UK and this is certainly one of the best.

“Best rental cottage - cosy, private residence with welcoming hosts in secluded village setting”

Clean, well presented cottage with great yard and private garden for young children. Cosy living room with open fire was a treat and comfy beds soo easy to sleep in. Plenty room for young travellers. Everyone loved it!
Oldhamstocks is a lovely quiet village amidst beautiful countryside and everyone we met was so welcoming. Play park and easy walks from the house a bonus with youngsters.
Easy distance to Edinburgh zoo (good for a full days adventures) and East Links Adventure park proved a cut above the usual with plenty fun for all. Beaches great although icy cold at this time of year!
Recommended for anyone in need of a peaceful base in this great area. Hope we can return again very soon.
