We had a wonderful stay in an excellent chalet, spacious, well equipped kitchen, bathroom and also an en-suite wet room, with 3 good sized bedrooms with comfy beds. Everything you need, even on a stay in day !. The welcome pack came in handy, till we got to the supermarket a couple of miles away, to stock up.
Kay and her family were not far away if we needed them for anything, and were very helpful and friendly.
With views over the Firth of forth, Bass rock, Dunbar and the countryside, the sunsets were well worth the wait, especially with a glass of wine. A short distance to the old harbour, and Battery.
The railway station can get you into Edinburgh within 30 minutes.
Would definitely stay again.
Beautiful cabin with beds more comfortable than premier inn!
Views to the sea are amazing, and location is superb to explore the east coast.
Cabin couldn't be any cleaner and Kay and her family are so welcoming and helpful. Thanks for the top tips to beat the Edinbrugh fringe traffic!
Loved it, loved it, loved it, I would give you ten stars never mind 5!
Lovely accommodation, spacious and clean with great range of amenities. Got a very warm welcome from Kay and a tasty welcome pack. My daughters loved exploring the farm and playing on the spacious veranda. Views from which are beautiful! We attended a family wedding at Broxmouth House which was just a 2 min drive from the Chalet. Dunbar town is only a 5 min drive away. Would highly recommend.
We had a fantastic time at the lodge. We were made very welcome by the family. The chalet was very spacious, two travel cots fitted easily in bedrooms. Amazing views. Very accessible and kids had lots of space inside and out. Chalet was spotless. Lovely, tidy farm with impressive cattle.
The cabin overlooks Dunbar and the North Sea. You can see ships heading into Edinburgh and, on a clear day, you can see across the Firth to the old Kingdom of Fife. We had a beautiful clear day during our stay where we just sat at the dining table, basking in the view and chatting about our plans for the future. Totally relaxed. The cabin has three bedrooms and two baths, one completely wheelchair accessible - providing good shower access given my arthritic knees. We picked the cabin in part because it offered parking, easy access to A1, and no steps. During our stay we used the kitchen to prepare and serve dinner for seven, inviting our local friends over. The Chalet is clean and comfortable. Kay and her family go out of their way to assure your visit is pleasant. A note: there is no WiFi but phone signal is good there. We were able to get the internet on our mobiles just fine. Second note: for history buffs, this overlooks the battlefield of the 1650 Battle of Dunbar (darn that Cromwell!) and there is an Iron Age fort just up the hill.
