A little bit of heaven in Devon!
Our fourth stay at Combrew Farm Cottages - that says it all! Great location, lovely hosts, fantastic facilities, beautifully clean. The weather was kind so we were out and about most of the time but we still found time to visit the incredible indoor pool and spa facilities each day. Already looking at the calendar for next year.

Excellent, hard to fault
Everything about our holiday has been excellent. John and Sue have been excellent hosts, from the first email asking a few questions before booking through to the day we left they have been friendly, quick to respond, and happy to help in any way they can. The cottage itself is lovely, there are beams and exposed bricks everywhere and it has been decorated to keep it's charm. There is a good sized living room with comfy sofas and chairs, and a massive kitchen/diner which is fully equipped with everything you need. Upstairs there are plenty of bathrooms, the beds are very comfy and everything was very clean. The pool area is lovely, again everything was always really clean, and we used it almost every day. We did not get round to using the badminton and tennis courts, but we did use the games room and had a lot of fun. We normally do not return to anywhere we go on holiday as we always want to go somewhere new, but we all said we would return here for another relaxing break.

What a find!
My aunty booked Rose Cottage for a family holiday (seven of us plus my dog). We were so happy to find this wonderful homely cottage. It was spacious and very comfortable. We looked forward to going back there after a tiring day! The pool and games room were amazing. To put the cherry on top, Sue and her husband John were so helpful and friendly. We can't wait to go back next year.

Can't wait to return!
Have just spent the week here and it was absolutely stunning!! Had absolutely everything we could want plus so much more. A great place for exploring Devon or just chilling around the cottage in the pool and garden. Definitely deserves its 5* reviews. John and Sue are lovely, left us to enjoy our holiday but on hand if we needed anything at all. Made us all feel welcome, especially our youngest daughter. None of us wanted to leave!

Simply perfect
We stayed here during October half term for our 4 boys. Our plan for the week was to do very little, relax and spend some fun time together as a family. Mission accomplished!! The cottage itself was fantastic with plenty of room for us all. The 4 toilets were particularly welcome...especially with 4 boys plus a husband. The kitchen....wow, just wow. It's better equipped than many family kitchens including my own and though we cooked very little if you wanted to cook a full on Sunday roast then you would have had no problem, especially with the two ovens. The facilities on site were fantastic and we spent loads of time in the pool and games room. We just loved it and came home fully refreshed. We will most definitely be back!

Combrew farm is situated near Barnstaple , with amazing beaches a short drive away . We stayed in rose cottage and ages ranging from nine to late seventies. The cottage was lovely and superbly fitted out with everything you would need . The amenities on site are excellent with plenty to do for all ages ! The owners are lovely and always around if you need them . Altogether a wonderful holiday and we will be back !

Christmas break
We booked Rose cottage and the adjoining one for a family break. Having read the reviews I was very pleased with the place and the facilities on offer. Massive kitchen/diner, 2 living rooms with a real fire in 1. Bedrooms were clean as were the bathrooms. The beach and shops are literally a 15 minutes drive away. I can honestly say it’s lovely. Ok being honest again I was disappointed in the charges for playing pool in the games room. The pool table doesn’t command much maintenance so why ask for money to enjoy it? A very small downside on a great holiday.

Fantastic family-friendly cottage close to lots of beaches
We loved our stay at Combrew Farm, Sue and John really have thought of everything to make this a family-friendly, relaxing place to stay. The house was spacious and had everything we needed for a self-catering place. The indoor pool was a good size and the games room, park and animals kept the children entertained. Location is perfect – only a short drive to many beaches, plus adventure parks for kids. Communication before and during the stay was great, making the whole trip easy. We'll visit again!

Tranquil setting
We stayed at combrew farm recently and I must say it was superb. The location was perfect, situated down a typically narrow Devonshire roads in a quiet farm setting. There is adequately sized park for children to play on swings and trampolines and more importantly for my children, goats and rabbits to stroke and feed. The standard of finish inside our cottage was excellent, we particularly liked the kitchen dinning space which was great for the whole family to enjoy meal times. There is everything you need from pots and pans to tin openers and all the utensils you would usually forget and have to buy. There is also no need to worry about bedtime comfort, I now need the same pillows they use at combrew as mine now do not compare. Beaches are easily accessed by short car journeys with Putsborough beach being our favourite. For food there is a Sainsburys 6mins away to stock your fridges and a Chinese takeaway also 5mins down the road that i’d recommend. I would definitely return to combrew and would recommend to anyone. Thanks for making our holiday a good one.

Early summer Holiday
When we got there we were very pleasantly surprised to find that the cottage was extremely clean and we did'nt as we usually do need to clean as soon as we got there. It was also the best equipped accomodation we have been in, with everyhing we needed. John and Sue were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. The pool though small was perfect for people with young children. The gym again not big but perfect for the amount of people there when when we were there. The badminton and tennis court were excellent and the rackets and balls were provided by Combrew for free. All in all we had a lovely time which would have been even better if the weather had been a bit better. we will go again, next time we'el rent the 5 bedroomed cottage

Barnstaple is the commercial centre of the region, combining sophisticated shopping with the bustling atmosphere of markets and speciality shops. The modern Green Lanes Shopping Centre compliments the traditional Pannier and Craft Markets held since 1855 in the Pannier Market Hall. This attractive market town is the oldest and largest town in North Devon, nestling in the Taw valley on the other side of the estuary which the Saxons first settled in Barnstaple (Barum) over 1000 years ago.The Long Bridge, crossing the tidal River Taw was thought to have been built in the 12th and 13th centuries and in Litchdon Street are located the Penrose Almshouses built in the early 17th century.
