We had lunch on Monday in the Brasserie. The staff were very attentive, but not intrusive. The meal was delicious, our friends shared the rarebit which was beautifully presented on two plates, while we both had the celeriac soup, always a favourite of mine. For the main course our friends ordered the burger, and the duck and chilli sausages, while my other half plumped for fish and chips, and I had the hake with quinoa. The portions were generous. The view from our table was sensational, and the bill was not unreasonable given the overall standard of the establishment. I would certainly consider going there again, and have no hesitation in recommending it.

Visited the Belsfield as we always do when in Bowness for a drink. My partner looks forward to the earl grey tea made with loose leaf tea. Yesterday great but today ordered and received a pot of tea with 1 tea bag. Not the quality expected. When paying we asked why it was a teabag and told that they had run out of loose leaf tea! To make it worse neither drink was served with the piece of shortbread and again told they had run out - yet we still paid full price!!

Our stay here was fantastic. Just what we wanted. The hotel was clean very beautiful and the decor was amazing! Our standard double room was lovely spacious and the beds was very comfty. The view of the lake is such a speical touch and we loved having a drink looking out on the lake. The cocktail maker at the bar was brilliant my husband use to work in a bar and they excelled our expenctations. The staff was very polite helpful and was very attentive to everything we needed and more. I would highly recommend this hotel. We wished we booked an extra night.

We had a lake view room, it was lovely. Nice big room terrific view over Windermere and the hills. It was a bit rainy one day so we had afternoon tea. Highly recommend this as a fun option on a miserable day. Lovely scones and cakes. The staff were friendly and attentive. All of the public areas are beautifully decorated and relaxing. Only negative was Sunday morning when the breakfast was buffet style. For the money we were paying we'd expected table service and a better selection of food.

Room tip: Ask for a lake view room or go for an upgrade to a giant room with four poster
