I’m a lover of Chinese food and quite critical when things are not good, but given the limited Chinese community in Weymouth, this was a very pleasant surprise.

Hadn’t booked and the place was busy but a warm welcome and seated quickly.

I was expecting an ‘OK’ at best meal but could not have been more wrong.

Salt & chilli ribs - good portion and very tasty.
Scallop & Prawns - cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious.
Roast Duck & Char Sui - beautiful, not ‘fatty’ as you often get and the sauce was exceptional.
Seafood in Birds Nest - even better than the seafood starter, really delicious.

Service was very good and May was very attentive, despite having a full house.

If I had one niggle: no Har Kau starter which May advised was due to limited demand so understandable.

Thoroughly good experience.

The food here is absolutely fantastic, I’ve only recently started to like Chinese food and places like this really make the taste buds tangle.
Best to book your table as it is a very busy restaurant.
Excellent service as well

We ordered a delivery from Ming Wah and we were disappointed at the quality of the food the curry sauce that came was only well not half of a tub full and was very spicy hot and the rice wasn’t that good either for the price we paid it could of being a lot better the temperature of the food was good but we are not that far from the restaurant so I would of expected it to be hot anyway. Other than that it isn’t the best Chinese food I’ve had nor the worse either would we go back? Can’t say for definitely.

Ming wah looked lovely, and had a very warm ambience so we decided to treat the family of 4 to a Chinese meal...

when we arrived a Chinese family were sat next to us having the most gorgeous looking meal, stir fried greens, squid, rice and something delectable looking with Tofu

"can we order that" we asked however the lovely owner told us this was "off menu".

sadly we ordered from the main menu, what we got was:

a measly potion of prawns
some gelatinous ribs
two lots of noodles that were clearly cooked in an overused wok, as they tasted burnt
some stir fried veggies that were coated in some vile red chilli sauce
some stir fried prawns in a red sticky gelatinous sludge

even when we asked for the Noodles that a neighbouring table had, they bought us something different.

seriously the quality was the same as one of those "all you can eat Buffets", expect it was 3 x the price.

the restaurant were so busy with take outs/Deliveroo orders it was hard to get their attention, or even complain.

what guts me is that are clearly capable of cooking delicious fresh Chinese food, I saw it being served to their private clients!

but what they actually serve to their "normal clientele" is sub par, rushed and way toO reliant on bottled sauces.

very disappointed
