We stayed here for one night, what a fabulous experience. We were met by the owner Mrs Nightingale, who is a lovely lady, very friendly and welcoming and more than happy to chat. She actually lives in the castle and I think she and her wonderful staff are doing a fantastic job trying to maintain our heritage and make it accessible to the public. It wasn't like staying in a hotel, it was literally living in a castle for the day, we roamed freely round the grounds and the parts of the castle that are open. The staff were on-hand if needed without being over powering. The rooms are fantastic, you can chill out in the grand hall or watch tv in the former chapel, there's even a games room. There is information on display about various paintings etc. All the bedrooms are en-suite, done to a very high standard, the shower in our room was fabulous, the bed was extremely comfy, best nights sleep I've had for ages. We stayed in the old servants quarters at the top of the castle. Now onto breakfast...what can I say, good choice of cereals, fruit juice, fruit salad, yoghurt, fresh pastries, tea & coffee, toast. The full English is amazing, the black pudding was wonderful. Thank you to Mrs Nightingale and her staff for a wonderful experience, keep up the good work, hope to return soon.
