“Home from home”
Reviewed 5 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

Our stay was over the Christmas week and we arrived to heating on, lighting on, a decorated Christmas tree in the lounge and champagne, milk in the fridge with home-made mince pies left under cover on the side of the kitchen. The house was immaculately clean and the enclosed garden perfect for our 2 dogs. The cottage is very private with stunning views over fields and large skyscapes. This part of Yorkshire has mostly single track straight roads with long views onto the horizon, perfect for cycling, walking and bird watching. A great place to escape to in the winter ( and summer too) for those needing open skies and daylight!

“The best we have stayed in so far”
Reviewed 3 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

A very well presented property. The kitchen had all of what you would want, very well equipped. We used 2 bedrooms both excellent. The living room was nice and spacious with 2large sofas plus the TV, plenty of room. The dinning room had a table for 6 which was very good. The garden was great, our little Westie loved it, running up and down for ages. A bonus was a bathroom upstairs and one downstairs, excellent. This is the best holiday let we have stayed in so far. We have been all over the country in the last four years. Congratulations and thank you.

“Great place for a Yorkshire holiday!”
Reviewed 26 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Stayed here in early August and it really is a beautiful place to stay. Cottage is brilliant, decorated very well with all mod-cons and a great place to explore the Moors, York, Hull etc.
A very peaceful setting and brilliant if you have bikes and want to explore some beautiful rolling countryside.

“Wonderful cottage in beautiful surroundings”
Reviewed 17 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We have not long been back from a weeks stay in Holme Wold Cottage with friends of ours. We cannot recommend this stunning cottage highly enough. Everything has been thought of from hairdryers in the king size bedrooms to toys, games and books for the children (our boys are both 11 and very much appreciated them). We were welcomed by a delicious homemade chocolate cake and had a visit from Anne and the lovely Oscar and were made to feel at home instantly. The cottage is in a beautiful position with gorgeous views from every window. The garden is large and safe as our friends brought along their dog. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and with plenty of great places to visit all within an hours drive away Holme Wold Cottage makes an ideal base.

“Great place to stay”
Reviewed 28 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Attending a family wedding we stayed here for two nights, Friday and Saturday 10th and 11th July.

We were given, by e-mail, prior details of how to gain access to the cottage and as we were looking around, our host paid us a visit and explained where everything was located. She also baked a cake - such a fine gesture!

Downstairs there was a large lounge, a similarly sized dining room, kitchen and a shower room with toilet. Upstairs were two double bedrooms and a twin room. Next to that was a bathroom.

We had a four year old in our party and for her, there was a varied selection of books, games, jigsaws and toys, which thrilled her.

The cottage is clean, comfortable, well equipped and in a good location for exploring the Yorkshire Wolds. You do, however, need a vehicle as public transport is infrequent.

This property comes highly recommended.
