We stayed at la Chouette in early September 2014.Chris & Richard are the perfect hosts .They take great pride in their Gites & it is reflected in the quality of both the Gites & the gardens ,swimming pools etc.La Chouette is ideal for a couple with all the facilities for a relaxing ,romantic break.Travel inland to see centuries old towns & villages.Walk along the Blavet Riverside for miles on end for those seeking exercise or travel to the coast approximately 30 minutes away .We travelled up & down the coast on various days taking in Concarneau to the north to Carnac in the South.Make sure to take in the Submarine base in Lorient for a chilling reminder of recent history & the excellent tours of the base on offer at reasonable prices.The weather in September was great with temperatures averaging 24-26 C daily.To experience all of this area of Brittany La Chouette is the perfect choice.Thanks again Chris & Richard for a super holiday.

Have travelled the world and stayed in many accommodations and this rates as one of the best!
So clean / cosy and well equipped. Great location for exploring the region.
Chris and Richard are the perfect hosts. The welcome cider, juice and Breton tart was a pleasant surprise. The gardens are beautiful and lovingly cared for by Chris.
Stayed two weeks with plenty to see and do.
Would love to return.

We had both gites for one week. I have used Gites in France for many many years and this is one of the best, in fact it is the best. The owners have clearly given thought to what they provide which is basically everything you would require for your stay. From food items and basics such as oil and salt , pepper , herbs, to toys and games and crockery. Child gates and locks on cupboards are there if required which is so good for young families. Both properties were immaculate. The grounds are beautiful with many many seating areas to catch the sun or to grab some shade. Both pools were a godsend in the lovely heat. The games room provided lots of fun for the little ones and in the evening the older ones as we played table tennis.
The local village is a short walk or cycle away (bikes are provided)where you can get fresh bread etc.
A really lovely holiday and I would recommend and would return anytime.

We were so thrilled with the gite that we can't wait to go back. They had thought of everything for us as we were staying with a 2 year old. Right down to providing us with a baby monitor and magnetic drawer locks, stair gates and a pram! How brilliant not to have to lug all the usual stuff over to France! Chris could not have been friendlier - she came to hoover out the lovely warm pool a few times over the let which was brilliant. i can't recommend this property enough - such a beautiful setting and well tended to grounds in a stunning area of brittany with plenty of things to do!
