This is by far the cosiest, warmest and most well appointed cottage we have ever stayed in and we have been self-catering since the 80s. You truly only needed to bring your clothes and personal toiletries. The kitchen was well equipped too. Needless to say it was spotless and the beds comfortable. The shower was great and the hot water constant. Beautiful big garden for chidren to play in with a view of the sea. Would sleep 7. Plenty of games, music, books and films to watch too. We were surprised by a welcome pack which included milk and wines as well as everything for a cooked breakfast. A big thank you to the owners and no wonder it has a trip advisor certificate of excellence.
Wow what an Amazing place to stay. Helen and Max were so welcoming and helpful. They had left a welcome pack of a few essentials. Bread, milk, eggs, butter, etc and even Wine!
The house was spacious and comfortable. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. There was lots of charm to the house with quirky doors and stone floors. The house was equipped with every home comfort you could possibly need. Tea, coffee, washing powder, every kitchen utensil etc etc was provided. A home from home.
The beds were really comfortable and all 8 of us were able to relax and enjoy the whole house including a log fire, which was cosy on the cooler than normal August evenings.
The garden was vast and had a decking area at the top, which has some spectacular views of the sea. There was BBQ and a large trampoline which the kids loved. The house was situated close to Widemouth Bay and was a great base for exploring all the Cornish beaches and Villages.
We were all really impressed with the house, it definately exceeded our expectations and would definately recommend this as a great place to stay. We had a fabulous holiday Thanks to Max and Helen. Will hopefully see you again soon. The Gurdens and The Williams xxx
What a gem we loved our stay everything you need .the garden is a bonus kids and adults loved . Sea views and sunsets were lovely . Widemouth bay 5 mins away in car a lovely large beach .many places to vist near by . You do need a car to get out and about .max and Helen were on hand if need they were lovely .
Brilliant to find a welcome pack of food on arrival, especially after a 7 hour journey.
The teabags and milk were a God send! Thank you very much for that.
Clean and tidy house with a lovely back garden for the dogs. Two showers and toilets one up and one down were very convenient.
2 minor issues which in know way were detrimental to our stay or enjoyment were, that there are 6 steps up in to the garden (Our oldest dog has arthritis so cant manage stairs, luckily I was able to carry the 30kg Golden retriever up the stairs so that she could do her business). Any normal able dog would be up them in a seconds though. Secondly the downstairs TV doesn't work when the upstairs one is on. The picture breaks down to the extent that it is unwatchable. Again not a big issue it just meant I missed a few programmes due to others watching Big Brother every evening at 10.
What was a big problem though was that we never knew dogs couldn't be left in the house alone until we arrived. Our oldest dog hates being in the car and at 13 just wants to sleep. I did feel sorry dragging her out every time we just popped out to the shops etc. as again I had to heft 30kg in to the back of the car. Due to her arthritis it did limit what we could do in the day. I'm sure that this would have been in the terms and conditions somewhere so just got on with it.
As long as you have 2 able healthy dogs I can recommend this property without hesitation - Hopefully you will have better weather.
