We visited here at the beginning of May with friends who had been before. I think it's most advisable to book as was very busy. The restaurant benefits from gorgeous views of Loch Achray. The daily menu is written on a blackboard situated just above the bar area. There's a good selection and the chef will alter these to cater for your taste where necessary. I startred with a game terrine with oatcakes and gooseberry chutney as was feeling adventurous and hadn't really tried gooseberries before. Delicious. Main couse was the old favourite chicken with haggis in a whisky cream sauce. Dessert was chocolate rice pudding. Made with cream butter rissotto rice etc absolutely scrummy. At approx £18 for 2 or £21 for 3 courses it does represent great value for money... Would highly recommend if your holidaying in the area but remember to book. It was a fab night when we went and the views were stunning. Clean plates needless to say all around :)
