Friendly warm staff eager to please. Food was good but lacked finesse. Vegan curry was tasty and beers well cellared.
Dogs welcome outside and in the bar area
Prices average.
Chef keen to help.

Thank Ian T

Stopped by here last night and even though we hadn't made a reservation, we were given a table and asked if we minded waiting a while before we ordered as they had two large parties just arriving. We settled down with a pack of cards (games supplied by the pub) and in the end we hardly had to wait at all!

The food was delicious, the wine (bottle of Pinotage) equally nice, as was the beer. Between us we had the burgers, haggis/neeps/tatties, seabass and lamb shanks. All great!

The staff were really friendly and attentive, and as mentioned earlier, managed our expectations perfectly.

Recommended.

Great little pub that catered for about 12 of us with a mix of veggie, vegan & gluten free options too! Would definitely stop off again if ever we are passing for food and/or drinks.

A hidden gem of a place. Great range of casks, a warm welcoming fire, great service, fab food and dog friendly - what's not to like. In a word - recommended !

We walked from Callader to Brig O'Turk along the south of Loch Venachar and back along the Great Trossachs Path - 6 hour walk. Stopped for lunch at the Byre Inn -- wonderful soup and Cullen Skink Crumble with micro-brewery ale. Lovely touch - there are books, a game, and trivial pursuit cards on each table if conversation is running out. Also a lovely warm fire!
