So glad we found this place. We might’ve missed it had the other two places we’d visited been open on a Monday afternoon. My parents are vegetarian and we had a lovely sweet potato and butternut squash soup, a broccoli and cheese bake for lunch. The soup was perfectly delicious and the broccoli bake had a very nicely made cheese sauce and sliced potato base, served in an immaculate white ramekin. Everything was piping hot. The real showstopper was the sticky toffee pudding and homemade custard. Properly done and not cloying the way I’ve normally had it. The custard was absolutely delicious. The kids loved their ice cream cone, served with the cone on top like a hat on a “head” of ice cream with smarties for eyes. My parents got the hot chocolate and enjoyed every sip. Everyone here was so friendly and attentive. Bottom line: a real down to earth local cafe that nails the basics and takes care of its customers. Loved it!
