We chose this pub as it received a high proportion of good reviews. Unfortunately it didn't live up to our expectations. The restaurant was clean but had little atmosphere and the food was very mixed. The roast beef and lamb was good, however the starters of nachos (swamped in a cheese sauce which tasted like it had been made from powder) and the special fish platter (tasteless and seemingly straight out of a tin or freezer) were terrible. The steak was tough and sinewy and the gammon tough and salty. The Eton Mess pud was good and landlady, Pauline, was very friendly. Sorry we can't recommend though.
