This is a small but informative attraction on Great Yarmouth's South Quay. There is plenty of information available and some fascinating stories about the part some of Great Yarmouth's residents played in the English Civil War and the beheading of Charles 1. Spent about an hour to an hour and a half here. We are NT members so entry was free.

A nice place to visit for an hour or so,it's like walking into someone's house in the olden days. It's on 2 floors. There is a place out the back to have a sit down with a cuppa.

After we left the museum, about an hour later, my wife discovered that she did not have her handbag. We phoned the museum and spoke to a very nice gentelman who went immediately through all the rooms to see if it was there. After about ten (10) minutes he phoned back to say the bag was not there, and he had looked back on his CCTV, and noted that the bag was on her shoulder when we left. We thanked him very much for going to the trouble,
Thankfully, the bag was found in a restaurant in Great Yarmouth, The La Continental.
I would also like to thank the staff at the restaurant for contacting my wife by mobile phone, to let her know that her bag was there.

A superb example of "stepping back in time" so much of real interest covering four centuries of history, you can try on the Tudor costumes for a photo shoot! and plenty for children to see and do again with costumes in the toy room featuring "the squirrels tea party" a real gem hidden behind a plain front.. don't miss if you are in the area.

Only small compared with some NT properties but very interesting, warm and clean. We had a good hour there and would definitely recommend.
