Description: Ricci’s Tapas and Cicchetti brings together seasonal, fresh ingredients with a touch of Balearic style and creativity. We offer small tapas-style plates packed with irresistible flavours, including favourites like Mini Chorizo cooked in El Gaitero Cider and Sweet Potato Wedges with Figs, Chilli and Goats’ Cheese. Every dish is made to order using fresh local produce, alongside unique artisan ingredients sourced from around the world. We think tapas is a great way to eat – it’s fun, informal and social, and encourages diners to dig in to something delicious while the wine and conversation flows. We’ve designed our restaurant in Halifax with laid-back communal dining in mind, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere that feels like a Mediterranean home from home. Drinks are an important part of our menu too, with a superb range of beers, wines, champagnes and cocktails on offer, including Estrella Galicia on draught. If you’d rather not book in advance or are dining alone, you can simply pull up a chair at our chef’s table and enjoy a couple of tasty plates alongside a cold beer or a glass of wine – there’s a warm welcome for everybody.

Went here again with my youngest daughter for lunch last week
Had 6 dishes - smoked haddock risotto - absolutely amazing and so tasty - suckling pig wow could have asked for more - sucking lamb wasn't so keen on this dish however all the other dishes made up for not really liking the lamb - the sweet potato wedges with goats cheese and pomegranate seeds was so so delicious - also had another fish dish which was really nice and also had the chorizo- yum yum yum - can't wait to go again

Not sure what is going on at Ricci's Tapas in the last 12 months, but it feels like something isn't quite right! We have kept persevering every couple of months, hoping that it will be as good as it used to be, but yet again left on Friday evening feeling disappointed!

On arrival we were excited to see a new menu, and relieved to see some of our old favourites still on. Sweet potato wedges, cod masala, pan fried tiger prawns were all great as usual. We then opted for a new dish of pan fried duck breast. Underwhelmed, is all I can say. At £9.50 I expected more than 4 small pieces of meat. When I raised my disappointment with this dish, I was surprised to be told that a duck breast costs at least £3 and that's why we were only served half a breast!!!

Our final dish was the suckling pig, another of our favourites, but certainly no where near as big a portion as we were served 12 months ago.

We will more than likely give it another go in a couple of months, again hoping that it is back to how it used to be!

Very good standard of food, pretty well presented in a nice atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff. All the food was good but the best dishes of the day that I would certainly recommend were the Aubergine and honey miso, the sweet potato and goats cheese, and the Blue cheese gnocchi, all absolutely delicious.

Note to anyone visiting the restaurant is pace your order yourself. Order some nibbles and then your starter and then your mains. We ordered too many things at once today and hoped that they would be sent out a little slower, they came very quickly and it was a little overwhelming. Made us feel a bit rushed but that was partly our fault, and we were not hurried out of the door after the meal. A better pacing would have let us enjoy the food fully.

A couple of tweaks that would elevate the experience would be firstly a cloakroom, we had to put our coats on a windowsill and ask the table next to us to move theirs out of our seats. Not a great start. Secondly, the drinks menu was covered in food, never good. Thirdly, stop serving VOSS water, it is ridiculously overpriced and totally style over content. £6 for large sparkling, no lemon, no ice. Tut tut! If you do insist on serving VOSS then you should inform the customer and give them chance to apply a little lubrication.......

Coffee was insanely good, the best I have had in a long time.

We are a bit spoilt as we went to SKOSH in York last week which has a very similar format to Riccis, just with better execution. I hope that the management work on a couple of little things and make this place as good as it can be, which will be awesome.

The sweet potato fries with goats cheese were delicious.
Also tried to special lamb and pork balls and the rabbit pasta dish.

We ordered the cod masala which tasted lovely but was undercooked in places. We have a guest currently being violently sick!

At the end of our meal we ordered champagne which was split down a guests back.

Although we laughed it off for the servers sake (we've all had embarrassing moments!) we were told that they'd deduct the drink that was split from our bill.

Not the grandest gesture!

I asked for a better gesture, but felt that the situation could have been handled better by the management or front of house team.
Although we did receive some discount we decided to leave a tip because all in all, our individual servers did a great job minus hiccups.
Summary- great food, takes you out of your comfort zone, service good but handling of complaints could be better !
Thanks for a great time.
