Since the new owner have been in we have visited here as a couple and with friends on 3-4 occasions.
Our most recent visit was to try out the taster menu at a very reasonable price of £40pp which sits way under most similar experiences in Yorkshire for a non Michelin Star/rosette restaurant.
The quality, and thought that has gone into the menu shines through and the flavours pack a punch while maintaining delicacy and holding perfect balance.
The quality of the food was high and all the ingredients work so well together I especially enjoyed the rump with cauliflower purée and the blood orange desert was perfectly paired with blood orange gin.
The whole experience was quick and professional throughout with our server Ben taking extra care to talk us through the food and recommend the best wines/spirits for the experience, we went for the Prunas and it was excellent.
We finished off our evening upstairs in the loft for cocktails and brandy and the atmosphere was great.
This is a must try for anyone who wants a fine dining experience with excellent service and attention to detail with the menu that doesn’t cost the world.
Obviously we will be back.
