“Lovely Quiet Cottage”
Reviewed 11 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Stayed in this cottage for four nights with my husband and parents. Down a quiet lane in a peaceful location. We were looking for a quiet few days away and this was just the place. The cottage was a nice size and had its own ensuite in each bedroom. The cottage was well equipped with everyday essentials. (Seems like the owners have thought of everything). The cottage is attached to the owners property but is completely private and has its own little garden which is also private. There was off street parking for the car. The cottage was in a good location and we were only 10 minutes or so away from the ferry terminal for our day trip to the Isle of Wight. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would recommend it

“comfortable, quiet, a lot of facilities, vast and very convenient for two couples or a family with children”
Reviewed 14 July 2013 for a stay in June 2013

The cottage is pretty large so that people can move and do things without disturbing the others. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and toilets. The sound insulation is very good. There is a private garden which is very safe and you can park your car in a private space inside the area The owners are very nice and give good advice for places which are worth visiting..

“Perfect”
Reviewed 10 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We stayed for five nights at Poppy's Cottage at the beginning of July 2013. The cottage was perfect for our needs as a family of four...two bedrooms...both en-suite and with a well-equipped kitchen / dining area. It was clean and well-furnished...and although it is attached to the owners house it is 100% private...as are the gardens outside. Located in a lovely rural area...we couldn't have asked for better and intend to return again at some stage.

“Ideal spot for touring the local area.”
Reviewed 7 June 2013 for a stay in June 2013

Really nice place for a small family or two couples. Very friendly and helpful owners. Everything you need in the cottage, and a nice private garden to relax in. Clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking adjacent. There is also a small nursery with a good selection of plants at great prices. Ideally situated for The New Forest and nearby coast. Great "getaway" spot.

“Location good, comfort average”

We stayed at Poppy's Cottage May 2013 with our two children aged 8 and 10.

Getting there: Please ask the owner for the postcode and use satnav if you can. I am not a huge satnav fan but in this case it got us there after the owner told us to turn left off the Lyndhurst - Lymington road when critically it should have been right. After 15 min delay and using the satnav to get us to the correct lane, we found it.

Property: It seems to be attached to the back of the owners house and adjacent to a small plant nursery. The main gates are shut and locked at night so your vehicle is secure.

When we stayed there it was unseasonably cold. The owners seem to be the only ones with control of the heating so you have to ask them if you want it on.

The door opens into the main living area which is a kitchen/diner/lounge combined. The sofa is on the opposite wall to the TV so is rather a long way away. My children ended up sitting on chairs in the middle of the room to get a better view, although this does mean if you are still on the sofa they block the screen completely!

The double room is directly off the living area and has a tiny en suite shower room with no window or radiator so towels stayed damp throughout our stay.

Down a short corridor is the twin room which has a much nicer bathroom with window and radiator.

The whole place needs a thorough spring clean. There were spiders and cobwebs in most corners of every room and a collection of dead wasps and flies behind the TV. I left a note and picture to this effect on the kitchen blackboard.

The beds however were lovely - really comfortable with nice bedding.

The place was pretty well equipped but note: NO Freezer, only a large fridge.

I would recommend this to a friend on the basis of its good location but check the owners have given it a spring clean first.
