Hadn't been here for a few years, but really pleased we decided to try it. We went for lunch after walking in the area with friends.
The food was freshly cooked and delicious, and desserts were really good.
Staff were very welcoming and friendly, and very attentive.
We will definitely be back soon.

Three of us called at The Red Lion this lunchtime & were so pleased that we did.The staff were so friendly & efficient & we cannot praise the food enough it was excellent.
We can recommend the homemade steak & ale pie as well as the liver & bacon, & for dessert the rhubarb creme brulee, delicious. If you are in the area you should definitely make a beeline for this old atmospheric inn crammed with nostalgic ephemera, which has roaring log fires to cheer & warm you on a cold winters day

Great food even asking my son if he wanted kids portion fish and chips or larger. Great choice with lots on the menu and excellent service. We were sitting the other side of the main bar as we had our dog so the atmosphere was just us three as we walked thfough the main bar it was very friendly and cosy.

We have visited the Red Lion countless times in the past but recently were disappointed that we couldn't order a simple bowl of chips with our drinks (they are on the menu, but as a 'side order' so you can only order them with a meal). Really?? The kitchen was open, it wasn't busy and we were sat at a table outside. Not a big deal I know, but bearing in mind it was the first time in about 6 months that we fancied chips it irritated me.

Drove past the sign at the top of the road earlier in the day, so thought we would give it a go that evening, we hadn't booked but it wasn't full, and it's dog friendly.
The food was excellent my fish cakes were very good and the salad was nicely dressed, hubby did have a moan that the burger bun could have been toasted, we tried to book a table for pie and pudding night but they were full
