Good food, a typical Pub well appreciated over here. Not too noisy, nice & smily atmosphere.

“Superb Food and a relaxing roaring fire.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 January 2012

Very helpful and friendly staff. when the food order was taken they made us aware that we had the choice or salad, fresh vegetables, chips or new potatoes. All three of our meals were perfect, we all left a little as they were large meals for a lunch time. A fantastic place to go for a quiet winters meal in front of a beautiful fire.

“Disinterested staff and threatened by hooded customer on mobile”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 January 2012

This pub was recommended by a local, so we thought we would try it for supper during our stay in Lymington and what a shock we had. The pub was quite, except for a hooded youth at the bar having an exceptionally loud, long conversation on his mobile, true 'Dom Joly' style. When one conversation ended another one started, clearly annoying me and the other people in the bar, but being ignored by the barmaid, 3 feet away. When I touched him on the arm and pointed out his conversation was rather loud, I was not remotely interested in his social life and could he speak quietly as it was ruining our evening. HIs response was to threaten me. The other customers pointed out that I was likely to get stabbed, as I left the pub, not what one would expect in the New Forest. Clearly I lived to tell the tale.
