Visited last night as we were staying in Lymington. Never quite made it to a koh Thai restaurant before, so thought we’d give this a go. Presented with a comprehensive menu, it was difficult to find something to choose. However, there are symbols explaining heat, dietary content etc. Our waiter Gus explained that if we told him what meats, flavours and spice we liked, they would do a taster menu. At £26 a head, this seemed fun and good value. My wife prefers less spicy food, so the spicy dim sum sauce was put in a side dish so we could choose how much heat we liked. It’s little touches that make a difference. The food was great, but the service was superb. Gus is a credit to the business. If there is a negative it is that service is added to the bill. Had it not been, we’d probably have left more than the £9 that is added automatically. But, it’s not enough to mark down a great first experience of Koh Thai. I’ll try my more local one in Southsea next!
