Stayed here one night and couldn’t fault a thing.
Has that traditional pub feel but exceeds in all aspects.
Staff were great in particular Jamie and Magda
Room was very comfortable and the dinner and breakfast was great.
Great location and definitely would stay here again.
Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed my stay at the king’s head. The room was very nice, four poster bed and lovely walk in shower. I really loved the fact they used Arran Aromatics as their choice of products in the bathroom. It smelt divine! Location is great, good parking facilities. Breakfast had a lovely array of choice, especially vegetarian options. I will definitely stay here again in the future!

We stayed one night here to break the journey on a recent trip. We booked direct with the hotel and received a £5 voucher for booking direct. The hotel has a reasonable amount of on site parking. The reception area is basic but checking in was 1uick and friendly. Access to our room on the second floor was up quite steep@nd windy stairs as you might expectation to find in a very old building. The room itself was nicely appointed, clean with a comfort@ble bed and recently refurbed en suite. We only had a shower but it was quite powerful with plenty of hot water. The bar area downstairs was well frequented by locals and typical old pub with local ales and friendly staff. The restaurant was very pleas@nt with good pub food at reasonable prices. Once @gain staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good and 0lentyful. A nice pl@ce to stay bearing in mind it is a very old building and the @ccess to bedrooms isn’t ideal for the old.

This is a town centre hotel and therefore very convenient. There is a reasonably large car park, which adds to the convenience.
Staff are friendly and welcoming, in the hotel, in the bar and at breakfast.
The room and bathroom were comfortable and clean.
Breakfast includes a good cold buffet and well prepared hot options cooked to order. Both cold and hot have healthy options.
The bar is comfortable and has a selection of local real ales.
The downside is that (at least in our room above part of the bar) the noise continues until after 11.00 pm and totally prevents sleep until it stops. The problem can be exacerbated by other patrons noisily making their way to their room and then for a long time moving about creating noticeable creaking noises above.
This is a pity, as it does detract from an experience that would otherwise merit a "four" rating.

the staff are highly professional but REALLY friendly. The cooked breakfast is a real treat, all local produce and for a big appetite. Ideal for our hangovers. This is a very old building and we were on the top floor the stairs are steep but the room and especially the bed linen and pillows are perfect really high quality cotton. We will defo be coming back.
