“What a beautiful place”
Reviewed 14 June 2012

Stayed at Buxted with my wife and 2 year old son, what a beautiful property set in beautiful countryside. Amazing history with the rooms, (named after the celebrities who stayed there. eg Churchill Room). The room was huge with gigantic windows and to die for views. My son was running all around in the room doing laps after laps. This place does take you back in time.
Staff was amazingly helpful and welcoming. Kudos to the team keep it up.
Our son was given a small dog made out of baloon by the manager which made him so happy. Small touches like this are very rare in the modern chain hotels.

Room Tip: Go for the old wing on first floor.

It is wonderful to know that you and your family enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you so much for taking the time to post your comments for everyone to read. I will pass on your comments to the whole team - in particular Julien who was the team member who turned his hand to balloon animals for your Son's enjoyment.

All the very best.

Went for an overnight stay with a couple of friends for the
Gourmet Dinner & wine tasting event. It was a treat for my birthday & we were greeted with a bowl of fruit & some delicious chocolate truffles !
It really is the most beautiful of surrounding - the grounds look like something out of a Turner or Constable painting - we went for a stroll despite the awful weather.
The rooms are beautiful & we were not in an expensive one - very comfortable & had everything you need - large TV & DVD/CD player although we found it more relaxing in the bar !
The meal & wine tasting were fabulous & the service was impeccable - very attentive & friendly staff. The 6 course meal was splendid & the wines were all excellent - plentiful supplies as well ! We all retired to the bar again for a brandy & coffee - the end to a perfect experience.
The staff are brilliant especially Marc - extremely friendly & made you feel very special.
Breakfast was served at our table although there was a very varied buffet - our waiter Stephan was really great.
Incidently there was a wedding on the night we were there & it had absolutely no impact on our meal - the restaurant doors were closed & apart from seeing the occasional guest we were unaware of any other event.
We had been to a wedding there ourselves the previous year & again it was a wonderful experience.

Thank you very much to all at Buxted Park - we look forward to more visits in the future

We drove down fron London for several nights on a driving our of the southeast counties. The staff was friendly and the dining room served reasonably well prepared foods. The grounds, kept in a natural style were our favorite part the stay. The facility however needs some tender loving care to bring it back to its glory days. The sink in our executive room refused to drain. The patio door did not latch. There was water damage to the wood around he patio door, etc. None of these items ruined our visit but more investment in maintenance is necessary lest there be continued deterioration.

The Buxted Hotel has recently undergone a transformation, and is now a very good B&B as well as an excellent provider of food. Every meal that we have eaten there has been very good. A warm welcome, lovely atmosphere, excellent layout so that though there are many people there, no-one is close enough to eavesdrop on your conversation!, polite and helpful staff and above all, very good food makes any afternoon or evening spent there a gourmet experience. Nothing is too much trouble and i have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this wonderful hotel.

This is a beautiful old hotel in Lovely countryside on the way to Eastbourne so ideal as a stop over before staying at say the Grand by the sea .
Good wine list and also beautiful events area ideal for special occasions .
