“Lovely accommodation”
Reviewed 8 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We booked the old stables for a girly weekend away and found it to be really comfortable. We were all pleasantly surprised by how spacious the cottage is as from the outside it looked tiny. It's close to the centre of Buxton which was great for us and had everything we needed for a great weekend away. (Spa, shopping, food and drink) There was a bottle of red wine waiting for us when we arrived, and lots of local info.

The cottage is very warm and we all ended up opening the windows and turning the heaters off for most of the stay. As there was only 7 of us we could comfortable sit round the bigger table but sitting in the living room was a bit of a squeeze. (maybe throw in a couple more comfy chairs or a bigger couch?)

We really enjoyed our stay and I would recommend this holiday let to anyone.

“Good location, quirky and comfortable house.”

Lots of space for the 6 of us. Well stocked clean kitchen, 2 good sitting areas, pretty character bedrooms. Well situated for walks, shops and friendly pubs. Had a fabulous weekend.

“Snug, cosy and excellently appointed for a stay in the peaks”

I rented the cottage with some friends for a weekend and we had a great time. The owners were extremely helpful in the booking of the house and smoothing over my mistakes with booking.

It's a little larger than it appears in the listing, with lots of bathrooms and two seating areas, and very comfortably accommodated eight of us. A concern I had was that we're eight friends with no couples, so it's nice to have individual beds for each of us, which the house provided. A side note - you could probably fit two or three people on couches, should it be necessary, and god knows how many in sleeping bags on the floor; the whole house is very cosy. The wet room would be perfect for dogs with an enthusiasm for muddy puddles.

The house is excellently positioned, quiet, but five minutes' walk from supermarkets, walking shops, grocer's, and the parking was surprisingly good considering we had seven cars; we all managed to find spaces in easy walking distance, with most right outside.

It has a singular character, and is maybe a little too cosy in places; the dining tables are a bit tight although we're not a group of small people on average. It's a minor complaint though, especially since the dining / kitchen area is so interesting.

Liked best: The character, and the balcony overlooking the living room. Very helpful owners.
Liked least: WiFi would be useful considering the lack of 3G reception in the area.

“Excellent Location and Character”
Reviewed 26 September 2012 for a stay in September 2012

We were a group of five friends on a mountain biking long weekend, looking for somewhere to base our travels from.

We found this property through TripAdvisor, and the owner was really helpful in getting a quote and sorting payment.

The property easily accommodated 5, with a large well equipped kitchen and 4 comfortable rooms. The Garage was a bonus for the bikes!

The location was excellent for going into Buxton in the evenings and and exploring the Peak District in the day.

Hopefully we will back for another excellent weekend!
