I booked two twin rooms at the Buckingham Hotel for myself and three other friends who were attending a wedding over the weekend. The main reason we decided upon the Buckingham was the price - £50 per person for two nights, which makes this a great find for those visiting Buxton on a budget. However, it is also worth pointing out that the location is excellent - just five minutes walk into the town centre, with plenty of parking space to leave the car.
The rooms were spacious enough, all with en suite bathrooms. We also enjoyed the quirky artwork throughout the hotel - from the image of a fawning Basil Fawlty at the entrance, to the pop art throughout the ground and second floors. There is also a good bar in the hotel, which is more spacious than most hotel bars and serves a good variety of drinks.
The only possible negative I could mention would be the lack of a breakfast - however, this was more than made up for in the price and as I mentioned, we were close enough to the town for this not to be a big problem.
Overall, we were very happy with our stay at the Buckingham Hotel, and I would certainly recommend it to other visitors to Buxton.More
