“Stylish property in a stunning location”

Had a fabulous half term here with our two teenage boys. Great setting with views down the valley from the contemporary kitchen space. Tasteful touches, particularly impressed with the Emma Bridgewater mugs. Very comfortable, interestingly designed and an ideal place to relax. Owner very personable and helpful advice on where to get fresh local products.
Enjoyable walks along the Huddersfield Canal and on the nearby hills.
The boys appreciated the WiFi!

“Wow Wow Wow”
Reviewed 26 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

First time (will not be last) at Swallows Nest, to visit family in Huddersfield. Most beautiful cottage, modern, on trend, stunning location, yet still convenient to amenities. Wish we booked 4 nights rather than 3. Stayed with hubby and 3 children (10 and twins at 4) who wanted to move in immediately!! Lovely touches such as fresh bread, butter, jam, milk and orange juice on arrival, fantastic attention to detail. A great place to stay if truly looking for a countryside break away but not too far removed from society to be totally convenient as well.

“Simply beautiful!”
Reviewed 6 September 2015 for a stay in June 2015

I visited this property recently and cannot say how impressed I was. This property has to be seen to be fully appreciated. The website is great but upon walking inside you can see the renovations are absolutely beautiful. Full of rustic charm and fabulous craftsmanship, features and furniture have been created by the owners from reclaimed timbers. The layout is cosy and warm for a family or group together, yet with places to find your own space. There is also a private garden area with barbecue facilities. The setting is around fields above the charming village of Slaithwaite in Yorkshire with views to die for. Perhaps only a mile or so into the village where there is a good selection of places for food and drinks. Sally is very friendly and organised and also local to the property which is always useful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

“Fantastic Place, beautiful view”
Reviewed 30 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We stayed for a weekend and it was not long enough. The cottage is lovely, spotlessly clean and the location is perfect for getting out and about the local area. The canal tunnel boat ride in Marsden is worth doing and you have got to try the cakes in the Hand made bakery in Slaithwaite.
The cottage has been thoughtfully built and the mix of old and new is great. The lights on the stairs that illuminate when you walk on them, the exposed beams, lovely big kitchen, industrial lights and switches all add to the quality of this place.
We were also greeted with a lovely welcome pack of bread, butter, orange juice, eggs and milk.
The best bit was sitting outside admiring the view with a glass of wine, perfect.
Sally also contacted us on the Saturday and asked us how thing were and told us not to rush out on Sunday morning, which was really nice of her.
So can't wait to come back and explore a bit further afield and spend some more time in this beautiful cottage.
