“Simply beautiful!”
Reviewed 6 September 2015 for a stay in June 2015

I visited this property recently and cannot say how impressed I was. This property has to be seen to be fully appreciated. The website is great but upon walking inside you can see the renovations are absolutely beautiful. Full of rustic charm and fabulous craftsmanship, features and furniture have been created by the owners from reclaimed timbers. The layout is cosy and warm for a family or group together, yet with places to find your own space. There is also a private garden area with barbecue facilities. The setting is around fields above the charming village of Slaithwaite in Yorkshire with views to die for. Perhaps only a mile or so into the village where there is a good selection of places for food and drinks. Sally is very friendly and organised and also local to the property which is always useful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

“Fantastic Place, beautiful view”
Reviewed 30 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We stayed for a weekend and it was not long enough. The cottage is lovely, spotlessly clean and the location is perfect for getting out and about the local area. The canal tunnel boat ride in Marsden is worth doing and you have got to try the cakes in the Hand made bakery in Slaithwaite.
The cottage has been thoughtfully built and the mix of old and new is great. The lights on the stairs that illuminate when you walk on them, the exposed beams, lovely big kitchen, industrial lights and switches all add to the quality of this place.
We were also greeted with a lovely welcome pack of bread, butter, orange juice, eggs and milk.
The best bit was sitting outside admiring the view with a glass of wine, perfect.
Sally also contacted us on the Saturday and asked us how thing were and told us not to rush out on Sunday morning, which was really nice of her.
So can't wait to come back and explore a bit further afield and spend some more time in this beautiful cottage.

“Brilliant, Relaxing, Excellent, Beautiful”
Reviewed 3 June 2015 for a stay in March 2015

As my title of this review pretty much sums up our stay in March 2015 i have just got round to finally writing it. Me and my boyfriend stayed for a very well needed relaxing weekend away at swallows nest. This place was the most beautiful place we have ever stayed and we have stayed in alot of nice places. But this place beat everywhere we have ever been too. The moderness of the kitchen the lovely steps when they light up when step on them. the bed was so bloody comfy i couldn't move out of it for hours. The views are to die for and the walks are beautiful. We walked down the little hidden pathway at the front of the main farm. was lovely getting to the bottom near the hills and watching the views and the world go by. We drove into the town for a wonder a few times and it is just so lovely. we went to the vanilla bean which we didn't have a great experience there but we then went to the home made bakery and it was beautiful and we had pork pies to go with our take away. the living room is just so gorgeous with the wood burner. especially on the cold nights we were there. we were told before our stay the wifi was off but as soon as we arrived we recieved an email from sally to say that it was back on. we are in process of deciding what month to come back. Thank you for everything Sally :) PS: THE BREAD AND SCONES AND MILK AND BUTTER WERE JUST AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can't wait for our next stay.

“Beautiful getaway”
Reviewed 5 May 2015 for a stay in January 2015

A wonderful weekend away in a beautifully furnished cottage. The weekend could not have been made any better, especially with the kind gestures from sally and her family (Gritting the big hill and the helpful directions) I have recommended this college to as many people as possible and will be booking another stay, very soon. Thank you!!! x

“Stunning house, great location”
Reviewed 13 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Swallows Nest is a beautifully presented cottage with great views. We got really lucky with the weather and enjoyed a sunny week of long walks and visiting friends. The cottage was a perfect base for exploring the countryside nearby. Sally was really helpful and made us feel very welcome. She has done an amazing job with the house - it is a beautiful barn conversion, done to a very high spec and tastefully decorated throughout. We appreciated all the extra thoughtful touches and would highly recommend a stay here.
