Do not visit this hotel what ever you do? We paid 135 pounds for the night and the room was so small it was unreal, basically it was a single room with a double ,ish bed squeezed in ? The double bed wasn't even a proper double you couldn't move, what ever you do.dont stay here , go and spend a night in the police cells

I rang this hotel and reserved three double bedrooms we arrived there to be told they only had one room available there was nothing they could do. The woman on the desk didn't speak fluent English we had a 9 month old baby with us so I had to take the one room we got to the room and you could smell the damp the light was hanging of the wall the curtain was hanging of the rail. It was boiling and you could only open one window the list is so big it will go on forever stay clear of this hotel

We had an overnight stay here on a Saturday evening, after booking through a third party website. The room was cheap, so we weren't expecting luxury. We arrived at 1 o'clock and checked in, and were shown to our room which was a small double attic room with ensuite, so there were quite a few steps to climb - no lift. Although the room was small for a double it was clean and tidy, and we had no problems during our stay. We were asked if we would like to book for breakfast for the morning at a cost of £5.00 each, so we booked this, and were given a voucher to take to the cafe across the road.

We booked 3 rooms at this disgrace of a place (through their own website) after discovering that almost everywhere else in Scarborough was fully booked. We read the reviews on Tripadvisor and it seemed that the hotel was being renovated and only the renovated rooms were being let out. The reviews were quite favourable, with the words 'clean and comfortable' featuring frequently, so we were happy with our choice. After booking, we contacted the hotel to confirm some further details and we received a confirmation email about these details, as well as the original confirmation . According to the website check in started at 11am, so when we arrived at the hotel just after that time, we went straight to the reception. We were advised that our rooms would be ready after 3pm and was showed our booking and the allocated rooms on the computer. Upon returning, after 3pm, our booking had strangely disappeared and the hotel denied all knowledge of there ever being one. Furthermore our rooms had been let to other people! We protested and when the owner was duly contacted, he advised us that we had booked through a third party not recognised by them. What? We had booked through their own website. He asked us to get our booking confirmation and phone him back. This we did and guess what? The spineless, corrupt excuse of a person refused answer their phone. There was nothing left to do but come back home again utterly dejected and well out of pocket for travelling expenses. This is an immoral, unfair and just disgusting way to treat people. This will not be the end of this. I am in contact with the tourist board and other organisation and will not rest until something is done to stop other people being treated in this way. According to the completely disinterested receptionist, who spoke very little English, this situation is common practice for this establishment. Oh yes, to add insult to injury, as we were walking away from the hotel in complete disbelief, we got an email from them advising us that our booking, which according to them we hadn't made, was cancelled. UNBELIEVABLE!

This was the cheapest B and B in Scarborough when we booked so we weren't expecting much and we didn't get much. In its defence the room was clean and the bed was comfy. There was no shower and the bath was tiny so I wouldn't want to stay more than a night. The location is good - on the top of the cliff overlooking North Bay with a short walk down to the beach and there's a couple of really nice cafe's at the base of the cliff.
