Me & my friend stayed in a double room August bank holiday. We had read the reviews and we weren't expecting much but we just wanted a place to get our head down for the night.

When we arrived we were checked in and shown to our room, by a young girl who was obviously new and didn't have a clue where it was.

The room was simple, nice view, bed was clean and fairly comfortable.

But..the plumbing was shocking. You got sprayed with water everytime you used a tap. You had to move furniture just to put the kettle on, the noises the plumbing made if you used the tap or went to the toilet were ridiculous! The staff were nowhere to be seen, we asked which was the quickest way into the town centre and one of the staff seemed confused by the question so we made our own way in, wanted to ask where there was anywhere to eat but there was never anyone around you had to ring a bell or telephone a number to see anybody, they had a restaurant all set up but you couldn't eat there. Overall it was an ok stay. But wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

we booked bed and breakfast only too find he had to walk across the road to a greasy transport cafe for breakfast. No choice apart from fried English breakfast, which was swimming in grease. Not what we expected.

I stayed here with some friends in two rooms at the beginning of July 2015 for one night having booked through booking.com. What can I say!! Firstly the rooms that we were given were not like the ones advertised by the booking company. They were old, poorly maintained and very, very dirty with cobwebs and thick dust all over. The beds were comfortable and the sheets appeared clean but the rest of the two rooms were worn and in need of repair/replacement. The shower/toilet was the worst I have ever experienced in a hotel. Luckily we were only there one night. I know for certain that our wives would not have stayed in the allocated rooms if they had been with us. The hotel is in a good location overlooking the North Sea and 5 minutes walk from the centre. It is currently being renovated which meant that the restaurant was not open for breakfast. What was strange when we booked in is we paid £5 each for breakfast the next morning. When we went down for breakfast we were told we had to go to a nearby cafe where we could order unto £5. Why were we just not told that there was no breakfast being offered? Another thing we found is that despite being told that the reception was manned 24 hours we found it was not. At mid night when we returned there was no one about and the following morning I waited 20 minutes in reception and was told by a cleaner that there was no staff on reception. Would I return? No way
